# Overview

The **Pack Enquiry** screen allows you to search for and view detailed information about timber packs across all branches in your organisation. This screen provides comprehensive pack tracking capabilities, displaying pack status, location details, and associated product information to help manage timber inventory effectively.

# Accessing Pack Enquiry

To access the **Pack Enquiry** screen, perform the following:

1. Click **Frameworks** and navigate to **Timber Packs > Pack Enquiry** from the navigation tree.
2. The screen opens with default search parameters ready for immediate use.

# Navigating Pack Enquiry

The Pack Enquiry screen is made up of 3 main sections:

1. **The Search Parameters Section**
2. **The Pack Search Results Grid**
3. **The Pack Details Panel**

## 1. The Search Parameters Section

The Search Parameters section allows you to filter pack information using various criteria to locate specific packs or groups of packs.

- **Branch: **Select the branch location to search for packs. This field defaults to your current branch but can be changed to search across all branches or specific locations.
  - The dropdown displays all accessible branches for your user account
  - Select **All Branches** to search across the entire organisation
- **Product: **Enter or search for a specific product code to find packs containing that product. Use the **search **icon to open the **Product Finder** window.
  - Leave blank to search for all products
- **Pack: **Enter a specific pack number to locate an individual pack. Use the **search **icon to open the **Pack Finder** window.
- **Location: **Specify the physical location within the selected branch to narrow your search to packs stored in specific warehouse areas. Use the **search **icon to open the **Location Finder** window.
  - Leave blank to search all locations within the selected branch
- **Include Used Packs?: **Enable the** **checkbox to also view any used packs in the results.

Click **Find** to execute the search based on your specified parameters. The search results will populate in the Pack Search Results Grid below.

## 2. The Pack Search Results Grid

The Pack Search Results Grid displays all packs matching your search criteria, providing essential pack information for selection and review.

**Certification**

Displays whether the product has been certified. For example, a PEFCOO certification confirming that the product is from a sustainable forest.

**Pack No**

Displays the unique pack number assigned to each timber pack. Pack numbers are system-generated and provide a unique identifier for tracking purposes.

- Click any **pack** number to view detailed information in the **Pack Details Panel**

**Brn (Branch)**

Displays the branch code where the pack is currently located.

---

**Production**

Displays the production code that applies to this pack. Frameworks stores the number of pieces that each production facility put into their packs.

---

**LM (Lineal Metres)**

Displays the total lineal metres of timber contained within the pack. This measurement represents the sum of all timber pieces in the pack.

---

**Pack Date**

Displays the date when the pack was created or received into the system. This helps track pack age and manage inventory rotation.

---

**Status**

Displays the current status of the pack, indicating its availability and allocation state.

Available statuses include:

- **Allocated: **Packs allocated to Customer Orders.
- **In Stock: **Packs that are in stock plus any packs that have been allocated to Customer Orders.
- **In Transit: **Packs in transit.
- **Used: **The timber pack has been sold or split and is no longer available as a pack.
- **Used - **Consignment: Includes all the above pack status options.

**Location**

Displays the specific warehouse location where the pack is currently stored within the branch.

---

**Supplier ID**

Displays the supplier code for purchased packs or the internal branch transfer id.

---

**Tally**

Displays the quantity/length of the individual pieces contained within the pack.

---

**Unit Cost**

Displays the average unit cost per piece or per unit of measure for the pack contents. This is calculated based on total pack cost divided by appropriate measure.

## 3. The Pack Details Panel

The Pack Details Panel provides comprehensive information about the selected pack, including detailed measurements, costs, and product composition.

### Pack Header Information

**Stk Branch**

Displays the owning branch for stock control purposes. This may differ from the physical location branch for inter-branch transfers.

**Pack Number**

Displays the selected pack's unique identifier, matching the pack number from the search results.

**Cubic Metres**

Displays the total cubic measurement of the pack contents, calculated from the lineal metres and cross-sectional dimensions.

---

**Pack Marks**

Displays any special markings or identifiers applied to the pack for identification purposes.

---

**Pack Date**

Displays the pack creation or receipt date, providing age information for inventory management.

---

**Lineal Metres**

Displays the total lineal metres measurement, matching the value shown in the search results grid.

---

**Production**

Displays the production code that applies to this pack.

---

**Supp. Number**

Displays the supplier's reference number associated with the pack.

---

**Purchase Cost**

Displays the cost to purchase the pack from the Purchase Order.

---

**Status**

Displays the current pack status with the same values available in the search results grid.

---

**Supp. Pack**

Displays the supplier's pack identification number if provided during receipt processing.

---

**At Current Avg**

Displays the current average cost valuation of the pack based on current costing methods.

---

**Consignment**

Displays consignment information if the pack is held on consignment terms.

---

**W/house Locn**

Displays the detailed warehouse location within the branch for physical pack location.

---

**Cert. Scheme**

Displays any certification scheme information associated with the pack, such as FSC or PEFCOO certification details.

---

**Comments**

Displays any comments or notes recorded against the pack for additional information or special handling instructions.

Click **Auditing** to open the Audit Enquiry screen with the selected pack's details automatically loaded in the search criteria. This allows you to view detailed audit trail information for the pack.

- Opens a new screen tab with Audit Enquiry
- Pack details are pre-populated in the audit search parameters
- Provides comprehensive transaction history for the selected pack

### Pack Product Details Grid

The Pack Product Details Grid displays the individual product items contained within the selected pack, showing detailed composition and measurements.

**Product**

Displays the product code for each item within the pack. Packs may contain a single product with uniform specifications, the same product with multiple lengths, or multiple different products.

**Description**

Displays the full product description for each product code, providing detailed information.

**Size**

Displays the cross-sectional dimensions of each product type within the pack, typically shown in millimetres (e.g., 90x35, 240x45).

---

**Pieces**

Displays the number of pieces for each product type and length combination within the pack.

---

**Length**

Displays the length measurement for each product type, typically shown in metres. Multiple length variations of the same product may be displayed as separate lines.

**Cost**

Displays the cost allocation for each product type and length combination within the pack, contributing to the total pack cost.
