Shipping Basis Codes define the shipping arrangement for Purchase Orders. For example, whether the supplier delivers to your branch or your branch collects from the supplier. Codes marked as pickup types control the visibility of the **Pickup Method** field in the **Delivery Maintenance** window in Runsheet Maintenance.

**Who performs this:** System Administrator

**When to configure:** During implementation, or when a new shipping arrangement needs to be added.

**Impact:** Shipping Basis Codes are selectable on Purchase Orders and in the **Delivery Maintenance** window. Codes with the **Pick-Up** checkbox enabled make the **Pickup Method** field visible and editable for Purchase Order transactions in Runsheet Maintenance.

> 📝 ## Prerequisites
> 📝
> 📝 - Access to Miscellaneous Table Maintenance via System Administration.
> 📝 - If adding a pickup-type code, confirm the relevant Pickup-type despatch methods are configured in [Despatch Methods Maintenance](https://kb.myframeworks.com.au/space/FRAM/28383350).

## View Shipping Basis Codes

1. Click the **Frameworks Menu**, then navigate to **System Administration > System Setup > Configuration > Miscellaneous Table Installer**.
2. Enter System - Shipping Basis Codes into the **Table** field, then click **Find**.
3. The current list of Shipping Basis Codes is displayed.

## Create a Shipping Basis Code

1. Click the **Frameworks Menu**, then navigate to **System Administration > System Setup > Configuration > Miscellaneous Table Installer**.
2. Enter System - Shipping Basis Codes into the **Table** field, then click **Find**.
3. Click **Add**.
4. In the **Company** field, enter the company code to associate with the new code.
5. In the **Code** field, enter a meaningful code. In the **Description** field, enter a meaningful description.
6. Enable the **Pick-Up** checkbox if the shipping basis represents a pickup type. Pickup-type codes make the **Pickup Method** field visible and editable in the **Delivery Maintenance** window for Purchase Order transactions.

> ✅ Refer to [Runsheet Maintenance](https://kb.myframeworks.com.au/space/FRAM/28399634) for more information.

7. Enable the **Deduct Freight** checkbox if freight is to be deducted on the Purchase Order, then click **Save**.

## Result

The new Shipping Basis Code is available for selection on Purchase Orders and in the **Delivery Maintenance** window in Runsheet Maintenance. If the **Pick-Up** checkbox is enabled, the **Pickup Method** field becomes visible and editable whenever this code is selected on a Purchase Order transaction.

## Maintain a Shipping Basis Code

## Configuration Options

### Pickup Type

**When to use:** When the supplier arrangement requires your branch to collect goods from the supplier, rather than the supplier delivering to you.

**Settings:**

- Enable the **Pick-Up** checkbox on the code.

> ⚠️ **Impact:** The **Pickup Method** field becomes visible and editable in the **Delivery Maintenance** window whenever this Shipping Basis is selected on a Purchase Order. Users can then select the relevant Pickup-type despatch method for the transaction.

### Non-Pickup Type

**When to use:** When the supplier is delivering to your branch, delivering direct to site or any arrangement that does not involve your branch collecting from the supplier.

**Settings:**

- Leave the **Pick-Up** checkbox disabled on the code.

> ⚠️ **Impact:** The **Pickup Method** field does not appear in the **Delivery Maintenance** window when this Shipping Basis is selected. If a user changes from a pickup-type to a non-pickup-type code, any previously selected Pickup Method is cleared.

## Validation

After creating or updating a Shipping Basis Code, verify the code behaves as expected in Runsheet Maintenance.

**Test procedure:**

1. Open a Purchase Order transaction in the **Delivery Maintenance** window via Runsheet Maintenance.
2. Select the new Shipping Basis Code from the **Shipping Basis** drop-down menu.
3. If the code is a pickup type, confirm the **Pickup Method** field appears and is editable.
4. If the code is a non-pickup type, confirm the **Pickup Method** field is not visible.
5. Click **Save** and confirm no errors are returned.

## Troubleshooting Configuration Issues

**Problem:** The **Pickup Method** field does not appear in the **Delivery Maintenance** window after selecting a Shipping Basis on a Purchase Order. **Check:**

- Confirm the **Pick-Up** checkbox is enabled on the Shipping Basis Code. Open the code in Miscellaneous Table Maintenance and verify the **Pick-Up** checkbox is ticked.
- Confirm the transaction is a Purchase Order. The **Pickup Method** field does not appear for Sales Orders, Invoices or other transaction types regardless of the Shipping Basis selected.
