# <span style="color: #172b4d">How is access managed within Frameworks?</span>

Access to Frameworks is currently controlled at the **User Security Groups **and **User IDs **level and maintained via the [User Maintenance](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28378032) and [Security Group Maintenance ](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28401628). In Frameworks, if a user isn't assigned to a security group that does not have access to an activity, they will not be able to view the activity on their screen. This is how user security governs access to activities within Frameworks.

> ⚠️ **Note**: There is an exception if a Frameworks activity/screen is made up of multiple sections. For example, a dashboard.

> ⚠️ ##  For existing ProStix customers who have migrated to Frameworks:
> ⚠️
> ⚠️ User ID creation and maintenance should be performed in Frameworks assuming that [Define User Groups](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/prostix/pages/31102034) and [Program Security](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/prostix/pages/31102062) has already been defined in ProStix. Maintaining [Program Security](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/prostix/pages/31102062) should continue to be performed in ProStix.
