# Product Matching During Customer Order Import

When importing customer orders, Frameworks uses the **Customer Product Translations** table to map products from the customer’s order file to products in your system. This mapping ensures that products are correctly identified, even if customers use their own codes or descriptions.

**How matching works:**

- The system checks each imported order line and tries to find a match in the Customer Product Translations table.
- The way products are matched depends on the customer’s configuration in **Attribute Maintenance**:
  - If the **MatchByProductId** attribute (Category: COP) is set to **true** for a customer, the system matches using the Customer’s Product ID and the Frameworks Product ID.
  - If set to **false**, the system matches using the Customer’s Product Description and the Frameworks Product Description (using the starting characters as defined in the translation table).

Keeping both the Customer Product Translations table and the **MatchByProductId** attribute up to date for each customer is essential for accurate and automated product matching during imports. If a product cannot be matched, the order line will require manual review.

**Setting up the MatchByProductId attribute:**

1. Go to **Frameworks Menu > System Administration > System Setup > Configuration > Attribute Maintenance**.
2. Select **Customer** as the type, search for, and select the customer.
3. Add a new attribute:
  - Set **Category** to **COP**.
  - Set **ID** to **MatchByProductId**
  - Set **Value** to True (to match by Product ID) or False (to match by Description)
4. Save your changes.

> ✅ Refer to [Attribute Maintenance](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28401652) for more information on configuring these settings.
