# Overview
The **Update Branch GP% and Sell Price** task allows you to update the **Unit ****Sell** price at branch level to retain the **Gross Profit %** that was previously determined for the branch when the standard **Unit Cost** changes. This process is essential when a user has set a different **Unit Sell** price at the branch level compared to the standard level but has not defined a branch-level **Unit Cost**.
# Feature Code
The **Update Branch GP% and Sell Price **function is NOT feature code-driven.
## Conditions Affecting GP% and Sell Price Adjustments
The adjustment of **Gross Profit %** and **Unit Sell** price is dependent on various conditions. The following table outlines key conditions related to sell price and gross profit calculations, along with the corresponding actions taken by the system for each condition or scenario.
> ✅ **Tip:** Navigate to **Product Maintenance** > **Product **> **Key Details** if you want to view information at standard level. Otherwise go to **Product Maintenance** > **Product** > **Product Branch** **Pricing** to view information at branch level.

| **Unit Sell** price (branch level) has a value but the **Gross Profit %** (branch level) has 0 value. | The **Gross Profit %** (branch level) will be calculated based on the value from the **Unit Cost** (branch level). |
| **Gross Profit %** (branch level) has a value but is different from the calculated **Gross Profit %**. | A new **Unit Sell **price (branch level) will be calculated using the value from the **Gross Profit %** (branch level). |
| Newly calculated **Unit Sell **price (standard level) is the same as the existing **Unit Sell** price (branch level). | No change is needed. |
| Newly calculated **Unit Sell** price (standard level) is less than the current **Unit Sell **price (branch level), and the product **Retain GP% (Down) checkbox** is** not enabled**.

# Accessing the Update Branch GP% and Sell Price
To access the **Update Branch GP% and Sell Price** perform any of the following:
- Click the **Frameworks Menu** and enter **Update Branch GP% and Sell Price** into the **Search Box.**
- Click the **Frameworks Menu** and navigate to **Inventory > Utilities & Scheduled Tasks > Update Branch GP% and Sell Price** from the navigation tree.
# Scheduling the Task
## 1. Report Criteria
On the **Report Criteria **tab, you can define the criteria required for the **Update Branch GP% and Sell Price** task.
- **Branch List: **Enter a Branch ID to define for which branch the **Gross Profit %** and **Unit Sell** price will be updated. To apply to all branches, use the wildcard * key.
- **Effective Date: **Select the date to apply the update.

> ✅ **Tip:** Enable the **Report Only** checkbox to generate a report about the update without executing the change. This is useful to ensure there are no errors with the update.
## 2. Schedule
Go to the **Schedule** tab to schedule the task as required and then click **Submit **to run the task.

## 3. Output
The **Output** tab is used to view the results of the completed task (dependent on how it is scheduled).
1. If the task is run immediately, click on the **Generated Reports **hyperlinks
2. If the task has been scheduled to run at a later time or as a part of a recurrence, then the [Task Scheduler Queue](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28405088/Scheduler+Administration#%5BinlineExtension%5DTask-Scheduler-Queue) will contain the output.
