# The Shutdown and Start-Up Sequence

The command sequences needed to start and stop Frameworks in conjunction with a Linux reboot are outlined below.

## Shutdown Sequence

The below shutdown sequence is required to be run before rebooting:

| **Command** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| ```c
sudo su - frameworks
``` | Switch to the ‘Frameworks’ user |
| ```c
stoppas.sh all
``` | Stop all Progress PAS app servers |
| ```c
stopdb.sh all
``` | Stop all DBs |
| ```c
ps -ef | grep dlc
``` | Should return no Progress processes |

## Start-up Sequence

The below start-up sequence is required to be run following a Linux reboot:

| **Command** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| ```c
sudo su - frameworks
``` | Switch to the ‘Frameworks’ user |
| ```c
startdb.sh prod
``` | Start Prod DBs |
| ```c
startpas.sh prod
``` | Start Prod PAS app servers |
| ```c
startdb.sh test
``` | Start Test DBs (optional) |
| ```c
startpas.sh test
``` | Start Test PAS app servers (optional) |
