# Overview

The **Task Scheduler Queue **contains a list of all tasks scheduled, all tasks running, or all tasks that have been completed. You can filter the tasks by these statuses. The Task Scheduler Queue contains the output from completed tasks.

> ✅ To view the outputs of any future scheduled tasks, you have to go to the Task Scheduler Queue.

# Searching for Scheduled Tasks

To search for scheduled tasks, perform the following:

1. Click the **Frameworks Menu,** then enter **Task Scheduler Queue** (or select **Task Scheduler Queue** from the **System Administration **then** Task Scheduler **navigation tree).

> ℹ️ A user is unable to change the **Created By** field unless they are a System Administrator with the correct access defined to change it. The** Created By** field is controlled by the user's security level.  This field allows users to view their own queues; however, they do not have access to other users' queues in order to prevent sensitive reports/scheduled task logs from being accessed by anyone.

2. Type the *date the task was scheduled* into the **Scheduled** field, or use the **Date Picker** icon to search.
3. Select either *All, Scheduled, Running *or* Completed* via the drop-down arrow in the **Status** field.
4. Select *Yes *or* No* in the **Has Run** field if you know that the task has run; otherwise, leave it as ***All***.
5. *If applicable*, type the task name into the **Name** field to filter the results.
6. Click **Find** to locate the task/s. A list of tasks will be displayed.
7. Click the **Name** hyperlink to review the report criteria (Json technical data) including:
  - The Task Details
  - Report Criteria information, including Parameters and Session Contect
  - The schedule
  - Output Reports
  - When it ran in the Task Log
8. *If applicable*, delete the task by clicking **Delete**.

# Editing a Scheduled Task

> ⚠️ If you belong to the **Sys Admin **security class, you can edit other users' scheduled tasks, but only if the tasks are still scheduled. You cannot edit tasks that are currently running or already completed.

To edit a scheduled task, perform the following:

1. Use the search options to locate the task you wish to edit.
2. Click the **Pencil** icon.
3. Modify any parameters you want to change.
4. Click **Save** to commit your changes.

> ℹ️ When you edit and save a job belonging to another user, it will no longer be theirs; it will now be assigned to you.

5. The updated task will be logged with a status of "Updated."

Click the **delete (X) **button to remove any scheduled tasks (the same as a purge).

# Updating a Schedule Task Owner

You can update the ownership of scheduled tasks, allowing you to transfer them from one user to the system-defined user **taskSched**. This prevent tasks from failing when a user leaves or is deactivated.

> ⚠️ **Important: **When a task is created, it is linked to the security access of the user who created it. If the task needs access to a specific branch, the user must have the right permissions. If the task is later assigned to a different user who doesn't have access to that branch, the task will fail when it runs. This failure only happens during execution, not when the task is edited.

> ℹ️ You can view the details of the original user who created the task in the **Report Criteria** tab > **Session Context**.

To update the ownership of a scheduled task, perform the following steps.

1. Use the search options to locate the task you wish to edit.
2. Click the **Pencil** icon to edit the task.
3. In the **Schedule** Tab, select **taskSched** from the **Executed By **drop-down.
4. If required, enabled **Send Notification** and enter one or more user ID’s (comma-separated) to receive a Framework Notification when the task runs.

> ⚠️ A user who is not a system administrator cannot modify a job that isn't theirs. Any user can edit their own scheduled job, but they can only edit others' jobs if they have system admin privileges.

> ✅ Refer to **[User Maintenance](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28378032)** > **General User Details** to determine if the user is a system administrator or not.

4. Click **Save** to commit your changes.
