# Overview

The **Pack Enquiry** screen displays comprehensive details of a single timber pack along with action buttons for related functions. Accessible via the **Pack Dashboard** by clicking on a Pack Number, this screen allows users to manage multiple packs in new tabs. 

From this screen, you can perform the following key functions: 

- Convert bundled packs into individual items, and vice versa.
- Split packs with specified and unspecified lengths.
- Cut timber in the pack, adjusting its length, and create new packs from offcuts.
- Change the warehouse location of a timber pack.
- Send a print job to the pack label printer for the logged-in user's branch.
- Modify pack details from a single interface, with automatic updates to inventory and financial records after the modification.

# Accessing Pack Enquiry

When you click on a pack number from the **Pack Dashboard** screen, a new tab will open, displaying all the details related to that specific timber pack. Note that this view is limited to the details of a single pack only. 

> ℹ️ You can open multiple packs simultaneously, as each pack opens in a separate tab.

1. Click the **Frameworks Menu **and navigate to **Timber Packs > Pack Dashboard **from the navigation tree.
2. Use the **search **criteria to find a pack, then click **Find**.
3. Click the **Pack **number hyperlink to open the **Pack Enquiry **screen, when the results appear.

# Navigating Pack Enquiry

Once you open the **Pack Number Details** screen, you can view its details and perform various functions like converting, reinstating, splitting, docking, moving, maintaining packs, and printing labels.

This screen is divided into 3 main sections:

1. The Pack Number Details Screen

The top section of the screen allows you to view the current details of the selected pack. The information displayed is:

**Branch**

Information about the **Stocking Branch **which will receipt the pack into stock.

**Pack**

The pack number assigned to the timber pack. 

---

**Cubic Metres**

Displays the UOM in **cubic metres (M3)**.

**Pack Marks**

Any mark details that help identify the timber pack.

---

**Pack Date**

Displays the date when the pack was added to the system.

---

**Lineal Metres**

Displays the UOM in **lineal metres (M3)**.

---

**Production**

The production code that applies to this new pack. The system stores the number of pieces that each production facility put into their packs.

---

**Supplier**

Displays the Supplier ID of the timber pack at the time of the receipting of the pack.

---

**Purchase Cost**

Displays the cost to purchase the pack from the Purchase Order.

---

**Status**

Displays the status of the timber pack.

- **In Transit**: A newly added timber pack that has not been **[Commit Packs to Stock ](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28386670)**.
- **Allocated**: If a timer pack has been allocated to a customer sales order
- **In Stock**: The timber pack has been added to stock
- **Used**: If the timber pack has been sold, used or removed.

**Supplier Pack**

The Pack Number from the supplier is it differs from the pack number that you have entered.

**At Current Avg**

Displays the average cost of the products in the pack.

---

**Consignment**

Displays the consignment number if the pack has been brought in on consignment.

---

**Location**

Displays the warehouse location where the pack is located. 

---

**Certification**

Displays whether the product has been certified.

---

**Comments**

Displays any relevant comments about the product pack.

## 2. The Diary Notes Pane

The **Diary Notes** pane captures any changes or key actions made on the selected pack. 

The information provided is: 

- **Date:** Displays the date when the change or action occurred.
- **Time:** Displays the time when the change or action occurred.
- **User: **Displays the username of the user who made the changes.
- **Action:** Displays the specific change or action taken.

## 3. The Pack Product Details

From this section, you can also view a list of products for the selected pack.  

The information provided is:

- **Product**: Displays the product ID of the products that are contained within the pack.
- **Description: **Displays the one-line description of each product.
- **Size: **Displays the dimensions of the timber products within the pack.
- **Pieces: **Displays the number of the timber product pieces within the pack.
- **Length: **This is the length of the timber in metres.
- **Cost: **Displays the cost per metre excluding GST of the product.

### Actions Buttons

At the bottom of this section, you will find the action buttons. These buttons allow you to make the necessary adjustments to the selected pack. The available action buttons are:

#### **1. Convert To Loose**

The **Convert To Loose** button allows you to transform bundled packs into individual items. After conversion, the button will be renamed to **Reinstate Pack**, enabling you to convert the individual items back into a bundled pack.

> ℹ️ Only packs with an **In Stock** status can be converted. Once a pack is converted, its status will be marked as **Used**.

#### 2. Split Pack

The **Split Pack** button allows you to split packs with specified and unspecified lengths. The key differences between these packs are as follows:

- **Packs with specified lengths** include particular lengths and quantities of timber. When these packs are split, the number of pieces changes, but the lengths remain constant.
- **Packs with unspecified lengths** do not have defined lengths. Instead, the total length of each product is known, and the exact lengths in the pack are only determined once the pack is physically opened.

After clicking this button, it opens up the **Pack Split** popup.

**Pack to Split From**

Shows the current pack number of the pack to be split.

> ℹ️ If a pack has multiple products, select one product from the drop-down menu to split. You can't split multiple products at once.
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ Products with multiple lengths will be shown on one line in the drop-down menu.

**Split Tally**

You have two options when splitting a pack. You can either enter a tally amount directly (qty/length) in the **Split Tally** field, or you can click the **Tally** icon. Clicking the **Tally** icon will open the **Create Split** popup, which contains a modifiable list of lengths for that product. 

Enter the number of **Pieces** that should be made and the **Lengths** of each piece.

> ℹ️ When **length validation** is enabled for the product being split, the popup will display a list of lengths for that product. This ensures that the lengths being split are validated against the predefined lengths for that product. The system flags **TimVal** and **TimSurBrn** also affect length validation.

**Creating Pack**

Shows the new pack number after the split. This will be the next available pack number

> ℹ️ Enable the **InvPakSplit **system flag to add a suffix (*01, *02, *03) to the original pack number. This helps groups related packs together and shows which packs came from the same parent pack.

**Print New Labels**

Enable this checkbox if you want to print the selected timber pack label.

**Label Qty**

Enter the number of labels to be printed. 

---

**Printer**

Specify the printer where the label will be printed.

#### 3. Dock Pack

The **Dock Pack** button allows you to cut timber in the pack, changing its length and transforming offcuts into new packs.

> ❌ Frameworks displays an error message and prevents docking if the pack is not in stock, contains multiple products, has multiple lengths, or is not on consignment.

After clicking this button, it opens up the **Dock Pack** popup window. 

- Click the **Add** button to create each pack being docked (cut) from the existing pack. To delete a pack, click the **Remove** button.

**The upper grid shows the products and their quantities as they currently exist in the pack. The details displayed are:**

**Product**

Displays the product ID of the product/s that are contained within the pack.

**Pieces**

Displays the number of the timber product piece/s within the pack.

---

**Length**

Displays the length of each piece within the pack.

**The lower grid is where you can enter the pack and the lengths you want to dock into another pack. The fields available are:**

**Line**

Displays the line number for each entry.

**Pack**

Displays the next available pack number. 

---

**Product**

Displays the product ID of the items in the currently selected pack.

---

**Pieces**

Enter the number of the timber product piece/s within the pack.

---

**Length**

Enter the length of each piece within the pack.

#### 4. Move Pack

The **Move Pack** button allows you to change the warehouse location of a pack. After clicking this button, it opens up the **Move Pack** popup window.

The only field you can edit is the **New Location** field. Search for the location where you want to move the pack, then click the **Move** button.

The lower grid shows the products and their quantities as they currently exist in the pack. The details displayed are:

**Line**

Displays the line number for each entry.

Displays the product ID of the items in the currently selected pack.

**Description**

Displays the one-line description of each product.

**Pack Details**

Displays information related to the timber pack.

**UM**

Displays the unit of measure of the timber pack.

#### 5. Print Label

The **Print Pack Label **button allows you to send a print job to the **Pack label **printer for the logged-in user's branch.

#### 6. Maintain Pack

The **Maintain Pack** button opens the **Maintain Pack** popup, a streamlined Pack Maintenance that allows you to modify pack details from a single interface. Any changes automatically update inventory and financial records.

Some details on the popup are not editable. The following fields can be updated: 

**Production**

Enter the production code that applies to this new pack.

**Supplier Pack**

Enter the Pack Number from the supplier if it differs from the pack number that you have entered.

---

**Invoice**

Enter the Supplier Invoice number or delivery docket number that includes this pack.

---

**Stack-ID**

Enter the identifying number for the kiln stack that this timber pack came from.

---

**Date Stripped**

Enter the date that the stack was stripped.

---

**Location**

Enter the warehouse location where the timber pack is to be located. 

---

**Certification**

Enter any certification related to the timber pack. 

---

**Comments **

Enter any comments that have been added to the timber pack.
