# Overview

The option to Import a Data dictionary is to be used in conjunction with the Data Translation option. From time-to-time changes to data dictionaries may be released with new field names and so on. These new fields are not available within the Data Translations unless the new dictionary has been imported using this option.

# <span style="color: #172b4d">Importing the ETM Dictionary </span>

To access the ETM Dictionary Import, perform the following:

1. Click **Frameworks **then navigate to **Electronic Trade > ETM Dictionary Import **from the navigation tree.
2. Click **Upload XML** to upload the XML file using the **File Upload** options.

> ⚠️ **Report Only** is enabled by default. When ticked the import will produce a report only of the imported changes to be made without processing the changes themselves. This is useful to ensure there are no errors with the import. Disable to import the changes into Frameworks.

3. <span style="color: #333333">If required, go to the </span>**Schedule**<span style="color: #333333"> tab and set the required import schedule parameters (eg once only, daily, weekly).</span>

4. <span style="color: #333333">Click </span><span style="color: #333333">**Submit **</span><span style="color: #333333">to run the import task. Once complete the </span>**Output**<span style="color: #333333"> tab will display a summary of the </span><span style="color: #333333">**ETM Dictionary Import**</span><span style="color: #333333"> including any that issues that might need to be resolved.</span>
