What are the setup considerations for the configuration of **ScanSKU - M Series (1D) **to use Frameworks mobile?

# Answer

This document will outline of the most common considerations when configuring the **ScanSKU - M Series (1D).** These considerations are related to access, usability and getting the most out of the screen space and the following should be considered:

- Device Specifications
- Peripherals
- Display settings
- Keyboard settings
- Scanner settings
- Browser settings
- URL Parameters
- Home screen/desktop Icon

> ## Create an Icon on the Home Screen

> By adding your Frameworks Mobile access to your mobile devices Home Screen will:
> 
> - Give you quick access to Frameworks on your mobile device
> - On accessing the page, it will automatically hide the URL Address Bar at the top of the page.
> 
> > ⚠️ **Note**: The Frameworks URL parameters are **not **required for this device.
> 
> To do this perform the following:
> 
> 1. Click **Google Chrome Browser** to open and run the **Chrome **web browser.
> 
> > ℹ️ This is typically installed by default on and Android device. If not, you will need to use the devices app store to install it.
> 
> 2. In the **Address bar, **enter your Frameworks login URL
> 
> > ℹ️ - When typing the address to get the **:** key, on the keyboard, select: **?123**, then: **!?#**
> > ℹ️ - If required additional URL Parameters can be added to your Frameworks URL allowing Frameworks to be opened up using optimised settings for your particular device (Example:   
> > ℹ️ ?skin=Tahoe&device=tablet&useMobile=False&fontIncrease=2).

> 3. Once on the login page of your Frameworks in the top right-hand corner of the screen press the 3-dot menu and select **Add to Home Screen. **When prompted click **Add**.
> 4. Close Chrome and click on the newly created **Frameworks **Icon to open Frameworks with no URL Address Bar at the top of the screen.

## Devices Settings

The following device settings are in addition to our [Android Mobile Device](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28407930) considerations. These setting with help to increase the screen space on the smaller then recommended screen size of the ScanSKU.

## Adjust the Keyboard Settings

To adjust the keyboard setting, from the settings main page:

1. Navigate to the keyboard settings by **Languages & Input > Virtual Keyboard > Gboard.**
2. Press **Preferences **and under the **Key **section and adjust the settings:
  1. **Number row** to be turned **Off **
  2. **Show emoji switch key **to be turned **Off**
  3. **Show emojis in symbols keyboard** to be turned **Off**  
Press** back **to exit out of the preferences section
3. Press **Text Correction **and under the **Suggestions **section and adjust the settings:
  - **Show suggestion strip **to be turned off

## Scanner Settings

Updated the following setting in the **Scanner **app.

Press the **Apps **icon on home screen to see all the apps and select **Scanner**

1. Once in the app press **Settings **
2. From the setting menu press the **Additional Content **cog icon and from the pop-up menu select:
  - **Tab Key**

This will allow you to automatically tab to the next field once you have scanned a product.
