# Overview

Frameworks allows you to send SMS messages to your Customers and Suppliers from the Dashboard.

## Additional System Settings / required setup:

1. Enter the SMS provider domain in system settings > General > code ***SMSProvAdd***:
The email address that is constructed and sent to the provider is then made up of the mobile number entered and the SMS provider address, e.g., *****[743627@sms.utbox.net](mailto:743627@sms.utbox.net)*.
2. As part of the account set up with the SMS provider, a list of email addresses that it will accept messages from needs to be maintained. For example, if using utbox for SMS, you can nominate an address/es that utbox will recognise as "from" and allow the notification to be sent as an SMS:
3. The customer can also configure a **Domain **that is recognised by the SMS provider; this is useful when many users may be sending notifications from Frameworks:

Other Providers are [https://www.directsms.com.au/email-to-sms/](https://www.directsms.com.au/email-to-sms/) or [http://smsgateway.com.au/email-to-sms-gateway/](http://smsgateway.com.au/email-to-sms-gateway/)

4. Configure the setting ***MailToSMS**** *value to "**os**".

**Note**: this can also be 'nuvu' but generally is required to be set to 'os'.

5. Enter the **SMTPFrom** email where email will be sent from to the SMS provider, for example [bernie@sterland.com.au](mailto:bernie@sterland.com.au) per the UTbox accepted emails configured in step 2.
6. Enter **SMTPHost** connection string as '**localhost**'

7. Configure the name of the mail server host. This is stored in the system code ***MailHost**** (this is the NuVu server IP or name) and ****MailSender**** Default Email*:

8. After making the above changes to the configuration, the App server Agents need to be trimmed. This is completed via a Prostix command prompt:

9. Test the SMTP SMS send

Having already trimmed the agents per step 6, Select Service: SMS and then enter the required Test SMS mobile phone number and select 'Send Message'.

10. The SMS provider will be messaged from FW as an email, and the provider will then send the SMS to the test mobile phone number.
11. To confirm if the SMS request has been received from Frameworks, the user can login to the SMS provider website and confirm if the SMS has been sent.

> ⚠️ Any user in Frameworks sending sms notifications must have an email address defined under User Maintenance otherwise the following error will occur when trying to send:
