# Overview

You can seamlessly activate and tender payments using Mitre10 and Home Timber & Hardware Gift Cards at the Point of Sale (POS). Powered by Frameworks' Vii Gift Cards integration, this functionality ensures a smooth and efficient transaction process, enhancing the overall shopping experience by providing a convenient and flexible payment option.

# Vii Gift Card Processing (Selling)

This process allows you to configure Mitre10 or Home Timber and Hardware gift cards to sell and activate gift cards directly through POS. 

To sell Gift Cards, you’ll need to configure the following:

1. [Create products to sell the Gift Cards](#create)
2. [Define these products to be recognised as Vii Gift Cards](#define)
3. [Confirm the Vii Gift Card API Credentials are configured](#confirm)

> 📝 This document uses the **Mitre 10 Gift Card **as an example, however, the same process is used for **Home Timber & Hardware.**

## 1. Product Maintenance > Macro (anchor)



In **Product Maintenace, **define three miscellaneous products to sell $50, $100, and variable-value gift cards.

1. Click the **Frameworks Menu **and navigate to **Inventory > Maintenace > Product Maintenance **from the navigation tree or search for **Product Maintenance. **
2. Click **New,** to create the gift care products.
3. Enter the details
4. Click **Save**.

> ℹ️ Note: Check with your head office to confirm the exact** Product ID, barcodes,** and **Product Descriptions** needed for the different gift card products.

> ⚠️ **Important: **Before creating the products, ensure **Is Non Balanced Stock Group** is enabled on the **Product Group **you are allocating the Gift Card** **products to.

### $50 Gift Card

Define the following **Key Details**, when creating the $50 Gift Card product.

- **Product ID:** Enter a product ID for the gift card, for example, M10INS50
- **Barcode**: Enter the Barcode used on the back of the $50 Gift Card to allow you to scan the card when adding it to the POS transaction.
- **Product Type:** Select **Miscellaneous **from the drop-down menu to ensure the SOH isn’t managed in Frameworks
- **Product Description:** Enter a description of the card to help identify it on the transition, such as Mitre 10 Instore $50.
- **Product Group:** Search and select the product group used for gift cards
- **GST Code**: Select **No GST **from the drop-down menu.
- **Unit Sell GST Inc:** Enter a unit sell price for the card's value, which in this case is **$50.**

### $100 Gift Card

Define the following **Key Details**, when creating the $100 Gift Card product.

- **Product ID:** Enter a product ID for the gift card, for example, M10INS100
- **Barcode**: Enter the Barcode used on the back of the $100 Gift Card to allow you to scan the card when adding it to the POS transaction.
- **Product Type:** Select **Miscellaneous **from the drop-down menu to ensure the SOH isn’t managed in Frameworks
- **Product Description:** Enter a description of the card to help identify it on the transition, such as Mitre 10 Instore $100.
- **Product Group:** Search and select the product group used for gift cards
- **GST Code**: Select **No GST **from the drop-down menu.
- **Unit Sell GST Inc:** Enter a unit sell price for the card's value, which in this case is **$100.**

### Variable-Value Gift Card

Define the following **Key Details**, when creating the variable-value Gift Card product.

> ℹ️ This allows you to enter an amount when adding the product to a POS transaction.

- **Product ID:** Enter a product ID for the gift card, for example,
- **Barcode**: Enter the Barcode used on the back of the Gift Card to allow you to scan the card when adding it to the POS transaction.
- **Product Type:** Select **Miscellaneous **from the drop-down menu to ensure the SOH isn’t managed in Frameworks
- **Product Description:** Enter a description of the card to help identify it on the transition, such as Mitre 10 Instore Variable.
- **Product Group:** Search and select the product group used for gift cards
- **GST Code**: Select **No GST **from the drop-down menu.
- **Unit Sell GST Inc:** Enter a unit sell price for the card's value, which in this case is **$0**.

## 2. Gift Card & Vouchers> Macro (anchor)



In the **Gift Card & Vouchers** maintenance screen, define the card type and products that will be recognised as gift cards when sold via Point of Sale. Define each gift card product you plan to sell here to ensure proper recognition at the point of sale.

1. Click the **Frameworks Menu **and navigate to **System Administration > System Setup > Tendering > Gift Card & Vouchers **from the navigation tree or search for **Gift Card & Vouchers. **
2. Click **New,** to create the voucher types.
3. Enter the details
4. Click **Save**.

### Fixed Value Types

Define the following **General **information, for your $50 and $100 gift cards.

- **Type**: Select **Mitre 10 Gift Cards** or **Home Timber & Hardware** from the drop-down menu
- **Product**: Enter the Product ID or search for the fixed value gift card product, as created above.
- **Integration Via**: Select** Vii Gift Card**
- **Fixed Value?:** Enable the checkbox for products with a sell price defined.

### Variable Value Types

Define the following **General **information, for your variable-value gift cards.

- **Type**: Select **Mitre 10 Gift Cards** or **Home Timber & Hardware** from the drop-down menu
- **Product**: Enter the Product ID or search for the fixed value gift card product, as created above.
- **Integration Via**: Select** Vii Gift Card**
- **Fixed Value?:** leave Disabled the checkbox for products with a $0 sell price defined.

## 3. Vii Gift Card Integration > Macro (anchor)



The Vii Gift Card integration allows you to activate your Mitre10 or Home Timber & Hardware Gift Cards at the time of tendering when selling a card. It also enables your customers to redeem their gift card value at the Point of Sale and check the balance of a gift card. 

> ℹ️ If you are already using **Mitre10 **or **Home Timber & Hardware **Gift Cards for payment, this process will already be configured.

# Other Considerations

## System Settings - Amounts

Depending on your business needs, the following system settings should be considered. From the Frameworks menu navigate to **System Administration > System setup > Configurations **> **System Settings - Amounts**.

### Setting Min and Max Amounts 

Use the following codes to define the minimum and maximum **Value (Amount)** that can be added to gift cards.

- **IHGGiftCardMax**: Maximum value for variable value IHG Gift Card
- **IHGGiftCardMin**: Minimum value for variable value IHG Gift Card
