# Overview

This process explains how to assemble kits from their components.

> ⚠️ Users cannot assemble an exploding kit.
> ⚠️ Users cannot assemble a non-stocked non-exploding kit.

# Types of Non-Exploding Kits

There are two types on non-exploding kits:

1. **Non-Exploding **kit products defined as a **normal stocked product**. Assembling a non-exploding kit correctly removes stock from the relevant component products and increases the stocked kit's stock.
Disassembling a non-exploding kit correctly adds stock to the relevant component products and decreases the stocked kit's stock.
Picking and releasing a non-exploding stocked kit only removes stock from the kit header and not the components.
2. **Non-Exploding** kit products defined as **non-stocked product**. That is, do not require stock levels to be maintained for the actual Kit product because, when a sale is made for this product type, the stock levels are only adjusted for the component products, not the actual Kit product.

Assembly/disassembly of non-stocked non-exploding kits occurs at order release.

This option allows you to assemble and/or disassemble a Kit using previously defined component products. You need to specify the Kit and the quantity of that Kit to assemble. This in turn decreases the stock levels of the component products of the Kit and increase the stock level of the Kit product.

Refer to the below for more information on Kit Assembly/Disassembly.

### Locate an Existing Kit

1. From the hamburger menu go to Inventory - Transaction Processing - Kit Assembly/Disassembly.
2. Click **Find** to return a list of all available Kits, or use the search criteria to filter/refine the results:

<span style="color: #000000">3. Click on the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Kit Name**</span><span style="color: #000000"> hyperlink to display the Kit component details on the right side of the screen.</span>

### <span style="color: #000000">Kit Assembly</span>

Once you have located and loaded the Kit as per** Locate an Existing Kit **above, you can optionally Assemble a Kit product in order to take its component products and remove from stock to add to the Kit.

This decreases the stock levels of the component products of the Kit and increases the stock level of the Kit product.

To assemble a Kit perform the following:

1. Enter the **number of kits **you wish to assemble - in the below example there are 0 Kits available (Current SOH).

I have added two Kits to be assembled, the following movements will occur:

- Kit **New SOH** will become 2
- Component Stock will have qty of 2 deducted from SOH (based on Qty Per x number of Kits), making the new SOH -2

Where the SOH of the components is negative you will be prompted upon save regarding insufficient stock; you can still proceed as there may be stock out on PO. Example:

2. Enter a **reference** for the Kit Assembly. Save.

### Kit Disassembly

Once you have located and loaded the Kit as per** Locate an Existing Kit **above, you can optionally disassemble a Kit product in order to return its component products to stock.

This increases the stock levels of the component products of the Kit and decreases the stock level of the Kit product.

To disassemble a Kit perform the following:

1. Enter the **number of kits **you wish to disassemble - in the below example there are 9 Kits available (SOH).
When disassembling kits the Number of Kits is negative. Note the current SOH is reduced from 9 Kits to 8 Kits, and the SOH of the components is increased from SOH of 1 to New SOH of 2.

2. Enter a **Reference** associated with this disassembly.

Where there is insufficient stock to fulfill the Kit request a warning will be displayed. Example:
