### <span style="color: #000000">GL Movements and Stocktake</span>

When a stocktake is applied, General Ledger movements are posted to the Stock and Stock Adjustment accounts. The cost used to value the movement depends on the costing environment.

**Standard Cost Environment** (Flags: **invstdcst** active, **invstdavg** inactive; Company Maintenance "Average Costing" unticked.) The value of the GL movements to the Stock and Stock Adjustment accounts equals the Variance Quantity multiplied by the product cost.

**Average Cost Environment** (Flags: **invstdavg** active, **invstdcst** inactive; Company Maintenance "Average Costing" ticked.) The value of the GL movements to the Stock and Stock Adjustment accounts equals the Variance Quantity multiplied by the average cost held against the stocktake - the snapshot cost for a full stocktake, or the count line cost for a partial stocktake - not the current average cost at the time of applying. If the product's current average cost has changed since the count, the product's average cost is reaveraged during the apply. The GL posting matches the variance value shown on the stocktake record.

When stocktake is "Applied" the following movements occur:
