# Overview
The **Despatch Methods Maintenance **screen allows you to define the delivery despatch types used throughout Frameworks. Defining different despatch methods allow you to:
- Better filter orders based on how they are being despatched.
- Allocate online generated sales to different Generals Ledger accounts, defined at a product group level, based on the despatch method type. This will allow them to be reported separately on the Profit and Loss (P&L) reports.
> ℹ️ The **Despatch Methods Maintenance **was previously defined under the Miscellaneous table **Delivery - Despatch Types **prior to version 5.13.
# Accessing the Despatch Methods Maintenance Screen
To access the **Despatch Methods Maintenance **screen, perform the following:
1. Click the **Frameworks Menu **and navigate to **Sales > Maintenance > Despatch Methods Maintenance **from the navigation tree.
2. Click **Find **to view all the currently defined despatch methods.
> ℹ️ The **Company** will default to the logged in users currently selected company.
# Navigating the Despatch Methods Maintenance Screen
Once you have opened the **Despatch Methods Maintenance **screen you can **view, create **and** maintain **a company's despatch methods.
The screen is made up of four sections, these are:
## 1. The Search Options
In the **Search Options** section, you are able to refine the Despatch Methods results.
1. From the **Company **drop-down menu, select the required company or **All Companies.**
2. In the **Despatch Method **field, enter a despatch method or part thereof.
3. Click **Find **to update the Despatch Methods results grid.
## 2. The Despatch Methods Results Grid
The results grid displays the information related to your search. From here you can view the result form you search and by clicking on the **Despatch Method **code hyperlink it will display the information in the **Despatch Method Maintenance **section.

**Company**
Displays the **Company** Id for the despatch method.

**Despatch Method**
Displays the **Despatch Method **code. Click on the **Despatch Method **code hyperlink to display the information in the **Despatch Method Maintenance **section.

**Description**
Displays the **Description **for the despatch method.

**Type**
Displays if the despatch method's delivery type is **Pickup, Delivery** or **Courier**.

**Delivery Fee Reqd**
The checkbox will be enabled if the despatch method requires a delivery fee.

The checkbox will be enabled if the despatch method is required in the Pick and Despatch app.

**P&D Colour**
Displays the colour used for the despatch method in the Pick and Despatch app.

The Despatch Methods Maintenance
The Despatch Methods Maintenance section displays the information related the selected despatch method. From here you can:
1. Manually add new Despatch Methods by clicking on the **New **button and entering the following information:
2. Click **Save **to commit the changes.

**Company **
From the drop-down menu selected the company the despatch method is for.

**Despatch Method **
Enter a despatch method code. This will be displayed when selected the despatch method within Frameworks.
> ℹ️ To set up a despatch method for direct shipping, configure the following settings in **System Settings - General**.

**Description **
Enter a description for the despatch method.

**Type **
From the drop-down menu select:
**Pickup**: This defines the despatch method as a pickup. Pickup-type despatch methods are available for selection as the **Pickup Method** in the **Delivery Maintenance** window in Runsheet Maintenance, when a Purchase Order has a pickup-type **Shipping Basis** selected.

> ℹ️ This despatch method type will not be displayed in [Transport Scheduling](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28410354) unless the **Pick and Despatch** checkbox is enabled.
**Delivery**: This defines the despatch method as a delivery.
**Courier**: This defines the despatch method as a courier delivery.

**P&D Colour**
Enter the colour name or HEX to be used for the despatch method in the Pick and Despatch app.

**Delivery Fee Requires**
Enable the checkbox if a delivery fee is required for the despatch method.

3. Edit existing Despatch Methods by updating the information as required.
## 4. The Command Buttons
This section allows you to:
- Add **New** despatch methods.
- **Save** and **Cancel** any changes made to a despatch method.
- **Delete** despatch methods that are no longer required.
- **Close **the despatch methods maintenance screen.
