# <span style="color: #172b4d">Overview</span>

<span style="color: #333333">When an </span>**<span style="color: #333333">Event</span>**<span style="color: #333333"> is triggered in Frameworks an </span>**<span style="color: #333333">SMS/Text notification </span>**<span style="color: #333333">can be automatically created and sent to the assigned number.</span>

This process explains how to create an SMS/Text notification based on an event being triggered.

> ⚠️ **Important:** An SMS provider is required for SMS's to be sent from Framework. Sterland does NOT supply this service directly.

# How to Create an SMS Action

To set up an automated SMS message, perform the following:

## Subscribe to the Frameworks event

The first step to automating the sending of an SMS from within Frameworks is to subscribe to the required event, so you can then add the **SMS **action when the event is triggered. To do this, perform the following:

## Add a SMS Action

Now that the event has been subscribed to, you can add the **SMS action**. To do this, perform the following:

> 1. In the **Actions Details** section, click **Add**.
> 2. From the **Action **drop-down menu, select **SMS.**
> 3. Enable **Subscribed** to subscribe to the notification.
> 
> > ℹ️ You can disable **Subscribed** at any time to disable the notification.
> 
> 4. In the **Description** field, enter a description to explain what the email is for, for example, "Send an SMS/Text notification".
> 5. If required, in the **Condition field,** enter any condition text to help filter the email requirements.
>

> 6. Enter the required SMS details as follows:
>

> a. In the **To **field, enter a mobile phone number to send the message to or use a variable event codes, for example, ***{order:contactPhone}***
> 
> b. In the **Body **fields enter the message you would like added to the SMS received by the User.

> > 
> > Body: *Hi, Order {order:numTran} has been confirmed. Thanks*.
>

> 7. Click **Save** to add the **Notification** action to the Event.

> > ✅ **Tip:** Multiple **Notification **actions can be added to a single Event ID.
