# Overview

The **Input Formats **are used to convert any incoming data files into the format accepted by Frameworks.

To access and define the ETM Input Formats, perform the following:

1. Click **Frameworks **then navigate to **Electronic Trade > ETM Input Formats **from the navigation tree.
2. Click **Find **to view all the ETM Input** Format IDs**

> ℹ️ To refine the search in the **Format From **and **Formate To **fields enter a range of format ID's to search and then click **Find**.

3. To update any of the **Input Formats **click on the **Formate ID **hyperlink to view and edit the details to the right of the screen. To add a new **Input Format**, click **New **and enter the required format information.
  - **Format ID**: Type a unique Input Format ID for the Input format you are defining. The Format ID can be up to 20 characters long and may be a mixture of both alpha and numeric characters.
  - **Description**: Type a description for the Input format ID you are defining.
  - **Conversion Required**: Tick if conversion is required or untick of NOT required.
  - **Format File** **Name**: From the Format File Name drop-down menu, select the XML Filename to be used by the Input Format.
  - **Document Type**: Type the Document Type to be used for the Input Format. Click **Search **to open the **ETM Document Finder** window to search for a document type.

4. Click **Save **to commit any changes.
