# Overview

From time to time, adjustments need to be made to debtor accounts to reduce or increase account balances.

Processing cannot be completed against internal accounts to prevent an internal account from holding a balance. If internal accounts are correctly set up, the balances should already appear in the General Ledger, so there is no need to complete any adjustments.

# How to Make Customer to GL Adjustments

To make Customer to GL adjustments to debtor accounts, from the **Home Dashboard**, perform the following:

1. Click the **Frameworks Menu,** then navigate to **Receivables > Transaction Processing > Customer To GL Adjustments **from the navigation tree.
2. Click **New** to create a new GL adjustment.

3. Type the G/L Account to receive the adjustment in the *Account* field or search for it via the **Search** icon.
4. The *Amount* is auto calculated depending on the transactions to be adjusted.
5. Enter the amount of GST to be applied to the journal in the *GST Amount* field.
6. Enter the BAS Code into the *BAS Code* field if required, or search for it via the **Search** icon.
7. Enter the Analysis Code into the *Analysis Code* field if required, or search for it via the **Search** icon.

> ✅ Refer to System Flag FWGLAFIND above to display the Analysis Code field on the Customer to GL Adjustments screen as a finder rather than a drop-down list. This is designed for customers who have a large number of Analysis Codes in the system.

> ✅ Refer to [Analysis Account Maintenance](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28401460) for further information on Analysis Codes.

8. Enter the reference that will be displayed on the customer statement into the *Reference* field.
9. Enter the narration to be displayed on the journal in the *Narration* field.
10. The *Adjustment Date* defaults to the current date. Use the **Date Finder** to select a different date. The Adjustment Date cannot be later than the debtor's current period end date.

> ℹ️ **Note:** A debtor transaction may not appear if the [**PrevFutDebAdj**](https://kb.myframeworks.com.au/space/FRAM/580716129/Receivable+Related+System+Settings#PrevFutDebAdj)** **flag is **enabled**, as only transactions within the current open debtor period are shown. Disable the flag to view all transactions.

11. Enable the check box of the selected transaction/s to be adjusted. The *Adjust value* will be automatically populated equal to the *Trans value;* however, you can change the amount as needed by typing in the amount in the *Adjust value* field.
12. Click **Complete** to create the adjustment transaction line/s.

14. When the Customer to GL adjustment is made, a printout is available within ProStix via the <F8> function.
