The following considerations should be taken into account when testing and training your staff about disaster recovery:

- Document the disaster recovery procedures as a best practice.
- Record any problems encountered and their resolution and amend the procedures as appropriate.
- Provide proper training of IT and operations personnel for implementation of the disaster recovery plan.
- When a disaster or hardware failure does occur, planning makes all the difference in the speed of recovery.
- A completed disaster recovery plan for technology systems allows companies to realise large returns on a relatively small investment, minimising what may otherwise be an unnecessary and costly outcome of disasters.
