# Overview

The table below provides detailed definitions of terms that you will frequently encounter while using Frameworks:

## Activity** **

A program or grouping of programs that performs a specific function within Frameworks. User security can be applied at this level.

## Dashboard

A major system component providing full drill-down into the core entities of the system including Customer, Supplier, Product and General Ledger.

## Grid

A table containing column/s and row/s of data.

## Frameworks Menu

Click the Frameworks Menu icon from anywhere in Frameworks to access the Frameworks navigation tree (menu).

## Hamburger (Old versions)

Click the Menu icon (4 horizontal lines) from anywhere in Frameworks to access the Frameworks navigation tree (menu).

## ToolTip Text

Most fields within Frameworks have pop-up or tooltip text to guide or prompt you to type or select a valid value. Simply hover your mouse over the field, or column to view the instructional hover text.

## Progress OpenEdge

Used to build the Frameworks application including business logic and database access etc. Progress OpenEdge is a leading platform for simplifying and streamlining the development, deployment and management of global business applications.

## Hyperlink

Provides a single click link to an associated record or activity within Frameworks. These are displayed as underlined blue text.

## Device

The machine, for example, a PC, laptop or tablet is used within Frameworks including its specific definitions as assigned by the administrator.

These definitions include things such as assigned branch, printers and till numbers etc.

# The Frameworks User Interface (UI)

## Home Dashboard Screen Definition

The Home Dashboard Screen consists of the following major sections:

1. **Frameworks Menu**: Can be clicked from anywhere in Frameworks to access the Frameworks Menu.
2. **Dashboard Icons**: Click any of the icons to access any of the core-entity dashboards.
3. **Screen Tabs**: Opening any section will open a new section tab. These can be switched between at any time.
4. **Logged-In User**: The currently logged-in user is displayed in the form **User Name (User ID)**.
5. **Logged-In User Details**: The current user's details include company, branch and the device in use.
6. **Menu Search Bar**: Used to search all available sections in the Frameworks Menu.
7. **Frameworks Menu**: Contains all available sections in Frameworks database sorted and displayed in a navigation tree. Expand desired headers or search using the search bar.
8. **Shortcuts**: A list of all saved Frameworks sections. Simply click the hyperlink to quickly navigate Frameworks.
9. **Notifications**: A list of all recent activity (e.g. running a report).

The Dashboard Screen consists of the following sections:

1. **Frameworks Menu**: Can be clicked from anywhere in Frameworks to access the Frameworks Menu.
2. **Breadcrumb Menu**: Shows the path of user navigation. Can be used to navigate back to previously viewed sections.
3. **Dashboard Icons**: Click any of the icons to access any of the core-entity dashboards.
4. **Active Screen Tab**: Opening any section will open a new section tab. These can be switched between at any time. The active tab is distinguished by a darker shade.
5. **Logged-In User**: The currently logged-in user is displayed in the form **User Name (User ID)**.
6. **Logged-In User Details**: The current user's details include company, branch and the device in use.
7. **Expanded Section Header**: Some sections in Frameworks are separated by headers which can be expanded/collapsed for access.
8. **Active Tab**: Below headers, a section is separated into tabs. The active tab is indicated by a darker shade.
9. **Tabs**: Used to separate and categorise sections. Can be switched between at any time
10. **Details Section**: Contains information on the currently selected tab. Usually comprised of editable fields with the non-editable fields greyed out.

12. **Button**: Click to perform the function. The function is specified by the text on the button. In this case, the button will open a new tab containing the customer's statements
13. **Collapsed Section Header**: Click to expand and view relevant section information.

## GL Dashboard Screen Definitions

Clicking the Account ID Hyperlink brings up the GL Dashboard Screen, which is divided into the following sections:

1. **Frameworks Logo**: Can be clicked from anywhere in Frameworks to access the Frameworks Menu.
2. **Dashboard Icons**: Click any of the icons to access any of the core-entity dashboards.
3. **Section Tabs**: Opening any section will open a new section tab. These can be switched between at any time. The **active **tab is distinguished by a darker shade.
4. **Expanded Section Header**: Some sections in Frameworks are separated by headers which can be expanded/collapsed for access.
5. **Logged-In User**: The currently logged-in user is displayed in the form **User Name (User ID)**.
6. **Logged-In User Details**: The current user's details include company, branch and the device in use.
7. **Search Results Header**: Divided into segments that can be selected to sort results as desired in ascending and descending order.
8. **Breadcrumbs**: Shows the path of user navigation. Can be used to navigate back to previously viewed sections.
9. **Inactive Tab**: Used to separate and categorise sections. Can be switched between at any time.
10. **Active Tab**: Used to separate and categorise sections. Can be switched between at any time.
11. **Date Selection Button**: When clicked, it will open a calendar that can be used to select the desired date.
12. **Find Button**: Once all desired fields have been filled, clicking this button will activate a search of the Frameworks database.
13. **Hyperlinks**: When clicked, it will perform the desired function or navigate to the desired section. In this case, clicking the month hyperlink will populate the GL Transactions section with transactions.
14. **Details Section**: Contains information on the currently selected tab. Usually comprised of editable fields with the non-editable fields greyed out.
