# Overview

Supplier Credit Claim Tracking is a feature that assists with raising value claims and stock returns against a supplier. When this feature is enabled, generating a return or claim against a supplier will create a transaction, known as a credit claim, which is deducted from the supplier’s account. When the actual credit note is received, the credit claim is reversed.

> ⚠️ This feature is available from version 6.1.230505 of Frameworks.

# The Credit Claim Process

The credit claim process is as follows:

## The Creation of Your Credit Claim

When creating a stock return or value claim within **Purchase Orders** or after receipting a purchase order within **Stock Receipting**, a credit claim is also created at the same value of your value claim or stock return. Additional fields are available during this process to add to your credit claim for future reference:

- **Supplier Contact**
- **Approval Number**
- **Carrier Used**
- **Consignment Note**
- **Claim Comment**

These are available to edit while the claim/return is still open within **Purchase Order Maintenance** under the **Credit Claim** tab.

> ✅ - For more information on creating a value claim or stock return, search for **Create a Value Claim** or **Create a Stock Return** within the In-App Help menu in Frameworks.
> ✅ - For more information on receipting a purchase order, search for **Stock Receipting a Purchase Order** or **Raising a Return at Stock Receipting** within the In-App Help menu in Frameworks.

## Deducting the Value of your Credit Claim from the Supplier’s Account

When your value claim is applied or stock receipting is completed for your stock return, the value of the associated credit claim is automatically deducted from the supplier’s account.

> ✅ - For more information on applying a value claim, search for **Apply a Value Claim** within the In-App Help menu in Frameworks.
> ✅ - For more information on stock receipting a stock return, search for **Receipting a Stock Return** within the In-App Help menu in Frameworks.

## Reversing the Credit Claim

When the stock return or value claim is entered into **Stock Invoice Approval**, approved and then posted to the General Ledger, the associated credit claim is reversed.

> ✅ For more information on approving and posting an invoice/credit note, search for **Enter a Supplier Stock Credit Note** within the In-App Help menu in Frameworks.
