# Overview of Issue

One main issue that has been identified is that QZTray will lose connection to the browser when the PC goes to sleep. This happens because the network adapter gets turned off by the computer when the PC enters sleep mode. To prevent this, you can either disable automatic sleep on the PC, or prevent the PC turning off the network adapter when sleeping.

# Option 1 – Disable Sleep

To disable sleep, open the Power Management settings of your PC. The screenshots provided are from Windows 11, however should be very similar to Windows 10.

1. Open **Windows Settings**
2. Click **System**, and then** Power & battery**. On a desktop machine this may just read Power.
3. Click and expand **Screen, sleep…**, and change “**When plugged in, put my device to sleep**” after to “**Never**”.

# Option 2 – Disable Network adapter power off on sleep

Instead of completely disabling sleep, you can change the adapter settings to prevent the network adapter being powered down on sleep.

1. Right click on the **Start **button and select **Device Manager.**
2. Locate **Network adapters** in the list and from the expanded list locate the network adapter used for your network and double click on it.
3. Select the** Power Management** Tab and uncheck the box “**Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power**”, then click **OK**.
