# Overview

When using the [https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/fwksproau/pages/30509842](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/fwksproau/pages/30509842) **Export as** option in Frameworks, you may encounter the issues where downloads are blocked or do not appear as expected. This behaviour is typically due to Google Chrome's security settings, which prevent downloads initiated from secure (HTTPS) pages if the download itself is served over an insecure (HTTP) connection.

# Symptoms

- Exported files do not download automatically.
- Chrome displays an "**Insecure Download Blocked**" warning.
- Users must manually retrieve files from the Downloads folder or adjust browser settings.

# Cause

Chrome's security policy blocks downloads that originate from a secure context (HTTPS) but are served over an insecure connection (HTTP). This measure protects users from potential security threats associated with mixed content.

# Recommended Resolution

To resolve this issue, you can either adjust Chrome's settings to allow insecure content from your Frameworks server or configure your server to serve all content over HTTPS.

### Option 1: Allow Insecure Content in Chrome

1. Open Google Chrome.
2. Navigate to `chrome://settings/content/insecureContent`.
3. Under the **Allowed to show insecure content** section, click **Add**.
4. Enter the URL used to access your Frameworks application (Example: `http://your-frameworks-domain.com`).
5. Click **Add** to confirm.
6. Refresh the Frameworks application page and attempt the download again.

### Option 2: Configure Server to Use HTTPS

1. Obtain an SSL/TLS certificate from a trusted Certificate Authority (CA).
2. Install the certificate on your server.
3. Ensure your server is configured to serve content over HTTPS.

> ⚠️ **Important**: This relates to the server itself, and NOT Frameworks. Reach out to your IT team to handle the installation of the certificate on the server.
