Overview To increase the uptake of Mighty Rewards and DIY Rewards across the customer base, IHG has been performing the following changes to the program: Sign Up Online : Where customers sign up online, they are issued a virtual card via email. They take this virtual card to the nominated store, and the store swaps the card for a plastic card. Open Loop : the open-loop change to the program means that any customer can accrue points in any store and redeem points in any store. For stores, this means that the first time that a customer from another store presents at the register in your store, the customer details need to be migrated from the DCA database into the store’s local system.  For customers who have signed up online, some stores may have a policy of issuing the customer a physical card using the  Replace Card  function within the  Mighty Rewards Card Maintenance screen, although this is not mandatory, and it is perfectly acceptable for the customer to use their virtual card on their smartphone at POS.
