Process Models define sequential tasks for frame and truss manufacturing workflows. Use process models to establish task order, dependencies, and timing for production job orders. This guide covers creating, editing, and deleting process models.

---

## Create a Process Model

> 📝 ### Prerequisites
> 📝
> 📝 - Access to Production Scheduling module
> 📝 - Administrator permissions for Process Model Maintenance
> 📝 - Standard tasks already created in Standard Task Maintenance
> 📝 - Understanding of the production workflow you want to model

### Steps

1. Click the **Frameworks Menu** and navigate to **Production Scheduling > Maintenance > Process Model Maintenance**, or type **Process Model Maintenance** in the search.
2. Click **New** to create a new process model.
3. Click **Add** to add tasks to the process model.
4. In the **Code** field, click the lookup button and select the task code. The **Description**, **Quantity**, and **UOM** fields will automatically populate based on the selected code.
5. In the **Assignee** field, enter a username if the task should be assigned to a specific user, or leave blank to assign later.
6. In the **Days Due** field, enter the number of days for task completion either before or after a milestone event.
7. Click **Save** to create the process model.

### Result

The new process model is created with a unique process model ID and is available for use in production job orders. A default blank task line entry is automatically generated when you create the process model.

### Optional Configuration

**To assign a child task to a parent task:**

- In the **Parent** field of the child task, enter the parent task ID.
- Enable the **Auto Create Child?** checkbox if you want to automatically create child tasks when the parent task is completed.
- If the **Auto Create Child?** checkbox is disabled, each task will be added to the job order when the preceding task is marked as completed.

## Edit a Process Model

> 📝 ### Prerequisites
> 📝
> 📝 - Access to Production Scheduling module
> 📝 - Administrator permissions for Process Model Maintenance
> 📝 - Existing process model to modify
> 📝 - Process Model ID or task details for searching

### Steps

1. Click the **Frameworks Menu** and navigate to **Production Scheduling > Maintenance > Process Model Maintenance**, or type **Process Model Maintenance** in the search.
2. In the **Task ID** field on the left side of the screen, enter the task ID if known, or click **Find** to display a list of all process models.
3. Click the process model **ID** hyperlink to load the process model details on the right side of the screen.
4. Click the process model task line you want to edit.

> ⚠️ The following fields cannot be edited: **Parent**, **Task ID**, **Description**, and **UOM**. If you need to change these fields, you must delete the task line and add a new task.

5. Update the editable fields as needed.
6. Click **Save** to apply your changes.

### Result

The process model is updated with your changes. The updated details will apply to future job orders that use this process model.

## Delete a Process Model

> 📝 ### Prerequisites
> 📝
> 📝 - Access to Production Scheduling module
> 📝 - Administrator permissions for Process Model Maintenance
> 📝 - Existing process model or task line to delete
> 📝 - Process Model ID or task details for searching
> 📝 - Confirmation that the process model or task is not in use on active job orders

### Steps

**To delete a task line from a process model:**

4. Click the task line you want to remove.
5. Click **Remove** to delete the task line from the process model.

**To delete an entire process model:**

4. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click **Delete**.
5. Click **Yes** when prompted to confirm deletion.

### Result

**If you deleted a task line:** The task line is removed from the process model. The process model remains active but no longer includes the deleted task in job order workflows.

**If you deleted the entire process model:** The process model is permanently deleted from the system and will no longer be available for use in production job orders.

> ⚠️ ### Important
> ⚠️
> ⚠️ Verify the process model or task line is not in use on active job orders before deleting. Deleting a process model or task that is assigned to active production workflows may cause errors in production scheduling.
