Job Sections categorise different phases of work within frame and truss manufacturing projects. Use job sections to organise production workflows and track work through estimating, detailing, manufacturing, and delivery stages. This guide covers creating, editing, and deleting job sections.

## Create a Job Section

> 📝 - Access to Production Scheduling module
> 📝 - Administrator permissions for Job Section Maintenance
> 📝 - Code for the new job section
> 📝 - Description for the new job section
> 📝 - Primary Product to associate with the job section

### Steps

1. Click the **Frameworks Menu** and navigate to **System Administration > System Setup > Sales > Job Section Maintenance**, or type **Job Section Maintenance** in the search.
2. Click **Add** to create a new job section.
3. In the **Code** field, enter a unique code to identify the job section.
4. In the **Description** field, enter a description for the job section.
5. In the **Primary Product** field, enter the product ID that will be associated with this job section by default.
6. Click **Save** to create the job section.

### Result

The new job section is created and available for use when setting up production scheduling tasks and manufacturing projects.

## Edit a Job Section

> 📝 - Access to Production Scheduling module
> 📝 - Administrator permissions for Job Section Maintenance
> 📝 - Existing job section to modify

### Steps

1. Click the **Frameworks Menu** and navigate to **System Administration > System Setup > Sales > Job Section Maintenance**, or type **Job Section Maintenance** in the search.
2. Click the job section line you want to edit.
3. Update the **Code** field if you need to change the job section code.
4. Update the **Description** field if you need to change the job section description.
5. Update the **Primary Product** field if you need to change the associated product.
6. Click **Save** to update the job section.

### Result

The job section is updated with your changes. The updated details will apply to future production scheduling and manufacturing project use.

## Delete a Job Section

> 📝 
> 📝 - Access to Production Scheduling module
> 📝 - Administrator permissions for Job Section Maintenance
> 📝 - Existing job section to delete
> 📝 - Confirmation that the job section is not in use on active production projects

### Steps

1. Click the **Frameworks Menu** and navigate to **System Administration > System Setup > Sales > Job Section Maintenance**, or type **Job Section Maintenance** in the search.
2. Click the job section line you want to delete.
3. Click **Remove**.
4. Click **Yes** when prompted to confirm deletion.

### Result

The job section is permanently deleted from the system. The job section will no longer be available for use in production scheduling tasks or manufacturing projects.

> ⚠️ Verify the job section is not in use before deleting. Deleting a job section that is currently assigned to active production workflows may cause errors in production scheduling.
