> ℹ️ A** diary note** is a short message about the product that is held on file. It is usually a reminder to take some action against a product.
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ Depending on your security settings you may have access to both 'Secured Diary Notes' and 'General Diary Notes'. On selecting the 'Diary Notes' option for a product, the screen you are able to view depends on your security access settings. Refer to **Define Users** within the **System Administration User Guide** for further information on allowing access to Secure Diary Notes.

> ℹ️ To create a diary note for a product, from the home **Dashboard** perform the following:
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ 1. Select the **Product Dashboard** icon > Macro (inline-media-image)
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ .
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ 2. Type and/or search for, then select the appropriate product via the Product ID hyperlink. Refer to: [Search a Product](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28379234)<span style="color: #333333">. </span>

> ℹ️ 3. From the **Product Information **section, ensure the "Dairy Notes" tab is selected.

> ℹ️ 4. Click the "New Diary Note" button to create a new diary note.

> ℹ️ 5. Complete the details in the **Diary Note Maintenance** window, then click > Macro (inline-media-image)

The new Diary Note will appear in the</span><span style="color: #333333">** Diary Notes**</span><span style="color: #333333"> tab once you have </span><span style="color: #333333">[refreshed](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/fwksproau/pages/30530778)</span><span style="color: #333333"> the</span><span style="color: #333333">** Product Information**</span><span style="color: #333333"> section header (right click on the section header then select </span><span style="color: #333333">**Refresh**</span><span style="color: #333333">).</span>
