All transactions for these customers that include products or product groups on promotion attract the special promotion prices specified for the period allocated. How to Create a Promotion To add a new Promotion, perform the following: Click   and navigate to  Special Pricing > Maintenance > Promotions from the navigation tree. Click to create a new Promotion.  In the  Promotion Header window enter the required promotion information as required: The From Branch and To Branch fields are automatically populated with the Branch the User is assigned to. For Users with multi Branch access, the From Branch and To Branch will show a range of available Branches the User has access to. In the Finish Date* field use the  date finder to select a finish date for the end of the promotion and, if applicable ,  enter a finish time for the end of the promotion in the (Finish) Time field. In the Promotion* field enter a promotion id. Alphanumeric values are accepted. In the Description field enter a brief description for the promotion. In the Start Date* field use the  date finder  to select a start date for the commencement of the promotion and, if applicable, enter a start time for the commencement of the promotion in the (Start) Time field. The From Zone and To Zone fields fields are automatically populated with the Zone the User is assigned to. For Users with multi Zone access, the From Zone and To Zone will show a range of available Zones the User has access to. If applicable, in the Customer Group field enter the customer group, for example, builders, the promotion is for or click   to use Customer Group Finder .  If applicable, in the Account Type field enter the account type, for example, standard debtor or COD, you are targeting for the promotion to apply to or click   to use Account Type Code Lookup .  Click to create the promotion. You will be taken to the Promotions Maintenance screen. Proceed to step 4 in Create and Maintain Promotions#addprod and/or Create and Maintain Promotions#addprodgroup . Adding Products to a Promotion To add products to a Promotion, perform the following: Click   and navigate to  Special Pricing > Maintenance > Promotions from the navigation tree. Use the  Promotion ID, Description and/or Branch fields to search for the promotion you would like to add products to and click  . Click the Promotion ID  hyperlink to open the Promotions Maintenance screen. Click  and select  Add Promotion lines to display the product entry fields. In the Product field enter the product id or click   to open the  Product Finder window to search for the product. The Std Cost, Retail GP%, Retail Sell, GST Inc and Sold fields display the current pricing information (before the promotions are applied) and product sell information as per  Product Maintenance . From the Pricing Rule drop-down menu select the appropriate pricing rule. A pricing rule code determines how this product is to be priced by prioritizing the values in the GP% field, Promo Disc field or the Promo Sell field.  Click here for more information about the Pricing Rules A pricing rule determines how this product is to be priced. Pricing Rule Description Fixed Defines a fixed sell price for the selected product line using the figure in the Promo Sell field. This promotion sell price does not change regardless of the sell/cost changes to the product. Disc of Retail Calculates a sell price using the Discount Percentage figure in the Promo Disc field and the Retail Selling Price. The promotion sell price will change if the product sell price is changed to maintain the discount percentage. Gross Profit Calculates a sell price using the Gross Profit percentage figure in the GP% field and the Branch Cost or if entered, the Promo Cost Price. The promotion sell price will change if the product cost  is changed to maintain the GP%.  The price displayed is based on for example, a discount off the standard sell price, however, if branch pricing is in use the discount is applied to the applicable branch price when the product is sold, which can thus result in a different price to what you see on the screen. Update the following promotional details as required: The products  Cost Price for the promotion, if it differs from the standard cost.  The  GP%, Promo Disc  or Promo Sell  (ex GST) When the System Setting - Flag PrmSellInc is enabled the GST Inc field will be available to enter in the promotion sell price (including GST). In the Purch field, If stock has been specifically purchased for this promotion enter the quantity.  Click   to add the product to the promotion. Repeat steps 4-7 to add all relevant products to the promotion. Adding Product Groups to a Promotion A Product Group is a way of grouping like products together.  To add product group/s to a Promotion, perform the following: Click   and navigate to  Special Pricing > Maintenance > Promotions from the navigation tree. Use the  Promotion ID, Description and/or Branch fields to search for the promotion you would like to add products to and click  . Click the Promotion ID  hyperlink to open the Promotions Maintenance screen. Click  and select  Add Promotion lines to display the product entry fields. Click  to toggle from  product entry to   product group  entry. In the Product Group field enter the product group id or click   to open the  Product Group Finder window to search for the product group. If applicable, In the Sub Groups field enter the relevant sub groups to be include in this promotion or click   to open the  Product Sub Group Finder window to search for the sub group. If no specific sub-groups are entered, all sub groups in the product group defined in the step above are automatically included. In the GP% field enter the Gross Profit % discount to be applied to products within this product group and click to add the product group to the promotion. OR In the Promo Disc field enter the discount % to be applied to products within this product group and click to add the product group to the promotion. Repeat steps 6-8 to add all relevant product groups to the promotion. Click   to save the product groups to the promotion. Maintaining a Promotion To maintain a Promotion, perform the following: Click   and navigate to  Special Pricing > Maintenance > Promotions from the navigation tree. Use the  Promotion ID, Description and/or Branch fields to search for the promotion you would like to add products to and click  . Click  and select one of the following options: Edit Promotion Header: This option allows you to  make changes to the promotions header details. The  Promotion Header  window will be displayed. Delete Promotion: This option allows you to delete a promotion from Frameworks. Add Promotion Lines:  This option displays the  product and product group entry options  Search Promotion Lines:  This option  displays the search finder and to find existing products or product groups  Maintaining Products or Product Groups in an existing Promotion To maintaining Products or Product Groups in an existing Promotion, perform the following: Click   and navigate to  Special Pricing > Maintenance > Promotions from the navigation tree. Use the  Promotion ID, Description and/or Branch fields to search for the promotion you would like to add products to and click  . Click the Promotion ID  hyperlink to open the Promotions Maintenance screen. Click the  icon beside the Product or Product Group line that you would like to edit, make your changes and click . Deleting Products or Product Groups from a Promotion To delete a product or product group from a Promotion, perform the following: Click   and navigate to  Special Pricing > Maintenance > Promotions from the navigation tree. Use the  Promotion ID, Description and/or Branch fields to search for the promotion you would like to add products to and click  . Click the Promotion ID  hyperlink to open the Promotions Maintenance screen. Click the  icon to removed the product/group line from the promotion.
