How to Create a Contract from a Quote To create a contract from a quote, perform the following: Create a Quote To create a quote, complete the following: Click  the Frameworks Menu,  then navigate to  Sales > Transaction Processing > Sales Orders  from the navigation tree. Click the   button and in Order Header  Type  select ' Quote'. In the  Cust Order #  field, enter the required number. Job name and part numbers that make up the order number can then be entered as required. If the Customer requires an Order number to be entered. In the  Desp. Method  field.  Date Required  will default to the next day but can be updated as required. Select the relevant code from the drop-down arrow  Click   to create the quote. Refer to  Create a Sales Quote  for more information. Add Products Click on the  Quantity  field for the new transaction line and enter the correct value. If required, also select the appropriate  UOM  using the  Search  icon. For Tally products, enter the tally qty and length in the  Tally  field for example, 5/3.1,10/4.2, 6/5.1. The system will validate and translate to a timber tally and total LM for the timber product. Once all product details are entered press <Enter> or click on the  Check  icon to save the line details. The entered product will then be displayed beneath the new product entry, detailing all the order details. To update line detail (Qty, Price, Usage, Picking Group or Line Comments), click the  Pencil  icon. To update a product with a timber tally defined, click the  Tally  icon. Create a Contract To create a contract within a quote, complete the following: Once you have completed adding products, click  Actions  and then  Mark as 'Entry Complete'  from the  Actions  menu. The status will change to Entry Complete. Click  Actions  again and then  Create Contract  from the  Actions  menu. The  Create Contract  menu item is only available for quotes with  Entry Complete  status. 3. Within the  Create Contract  window, complete the following fields: Select a  Contract Type  from the dropdown menu. Enable  Auto Select  if you want the contract to be auto-selected for pricing. Assign a  Contract Number  to the contract. If desired, enable  Merge  to merge the new contract with an existing one. Add a  Description . Select a  Price Rule  from the dropdown menu. Enable  Hold Price  to hold prices for your customer when they change. Enter a  Start  and  End Date  or use the  Date Picker  icon.  Enable  Save Costs  and/or  Fixed Quantity  if desired. Field Description Contract Type Choose from the following options: Customer : Applies to the designated customer across all branches. National : Applies to multiple customers (assigned in the  Contracts Dashboard ) across all branches. Job : Applies to a specified job across all branches. Refer to  Contracts Access and Maintenance  for more information. Auto Select Enable   to have this contract auto-selected for pricing. Customer No. Only relevant when the  Customer  contact type is selected. Enter or search for a customer to assign the contract to. Contract Number Enter a series of numbers to identify the contract. If  Merge  is enabled  , this field identifies the contract that is to be merged with. Use the   button to find an existing contract. Merge Enable   to merge this new contract with an existing one. Assign the existing contract using the  Contract Number  field. Override Products Enable   to override the products of the selected existing contract with the contents of the newly created contract. This field becomes active when  Merge  is enabled   and applies to the contract assigned in  Contract Number . Description A short description of the contract. Price Rule Select one of the following options: Fixed : Allocates a fixed selling price for all products within the contract. Disc of Retail : Allocates a percentage discount on the retail selling price. Gross Profit : Sets the contract sell price to the gross profit percentage typed. Hold Price Enable   to retain the prices of products on Gross Profit-based contracts when those products' prices change. This is available for editing only when the  Gross Profit  is selected as the  Price Rule . Start Date The date from which the contract becomes active. End Date The date of the end of the contract's active period. Fixed Quantity Enable   the  Fixed Quantity  checkbox if this customer contract is for a fixed quantity on certain products. 4.
