# Overview

A workshop order provides a means of creating a [Work Order](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28389744) that contains the amount required for the necessary materials and labour for custom-made items or fittings.

# How to Create a Workshop Quote

To create a workshop quote, complete the following:

1. Click the **Framework icon** then navigate to **Sales > Transaction Processing > Sales Orders **from the navigation tree.
2. Click **New** to open the **New Sales Order** window and create a new quote.
3. Fill in the following information:

> Macro (include)

> Macro (include)

- In the Type field, select Workshop Quote from the dropdown menu.
- Add any other necessary fields as required and click **Save **to create the workshop quote.

4. Add a miscellaneous product to the quote and price accordingly.

> ⚠️ This miscellaneous product is merely used to quote the job out and will be removed from the order prior to invoicing unless you use the Fixed Price product as defined in [Product Setup](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28407178).

5. Click **Save** to save the workshop quote.

# Accepting a Workshop Quote

To accept a workshop quote, complete the following:

1. Click the **Framework icon** then navigate to **Sales > Transaction Processing > Sales Orders **from the navigation tree.
2. Fill in the necessary fields, add Workshop Quote to the Type field, and click **Find**. Select the relevant quote from the results grid.

> ⚠️ Be sure to check that all services, products, etc. have been added to the quote and select **Mark as 'Entry Complete'** from the actions menu if **<span style="color: #ff5630">ENTRY NOT COMPLETE</span>** is displayed.

3. Click **Actions** and select **Accept Quote** from the actions menu.
4. Check the details are correct, fill in any extra details, and **enable** the **Accept This Date** checkbox. Click **Save.**

> ⚠️ The **Despatch Method** is now a required field.

5. The **Type** should change to **Workshop Order** and the **Work Order** tab becomes available with an automatically created work order.
6. Click on the **Work Order** hyperlink to open the **Work Order Details **screen and maintain the work order.

# How to Create a Workshop Order

To create a workshop order, complete the following:

1. Click the **Framework icon** then navigate to **Sales > Transaction Processing > Sales Orders **from the navigation tree.
2. Click **New** to open the **New Sales Order** window and create a new order.
3. Complete the following fields:

> Macro (include)

> Macro (include)

- In the **Type **field, select Workshop Order from the dropdown menu.
- Select the **Despatch Method **from the dropdown menu.
- Enter the **Date Required** and **Delivery Date** or use the **Calendar** icon.
- If the customer requires an order number, enter this in the **Cust Order #** field.

Add any other necessary fields and click **Save** to create the workshop order.

4. A work order is automatically created and can be accessed through the **Work Order **tab or through the [Work Orders Dashboard](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28388388). Click the **Work Order** hyperlink to maintain the work order.
