Overview A  Service Order  allows you to create a Sales Order for an onsite job, with a  Work Orders  attached allowing you to add the amounts required for the products, materials, and labour for the onsite job. For Example: A customer requires a new hot water system. Staff books out stock (and back in any unused stock), records any external expenses such as backhoe hire, and logs all hours worked. How to Create a Service Quote To create a service quote, complete the following: Click the  Frameworks Menu  and navigate to  Sales > Transaction Processing > Sales Orders  from the navigation tree. Click  New  to open the  New Sales Order  window and create a new quote. Fill in the following information: In the  Type  field, select  Service Quote  from the drop-down menu. And any other necessary fields as required, and click  Save  to create the service quote. Refer to  Create a Sales Quote  for more information. Add a miscellaneous product to the quote and price accordingly. This miscellaneous product is merely used to quote the job out and will be removed from the order prior to invoicing unless you use the Fixed Price product as defined in  Product Setup . Click  Save  to save the service quote. Accepting a Service Quote To accept a service quote, complete the following: Click the  Frameworks Menu  and navigate to  Sales  >  Transaction Processing  >  Sales Orders  from the navigation tree. Fill in the necessary fields and add  Service Quote  to the  Type  field and click  Find . Select the relevant quote from the results grid. Be sure to check that all services, products, etc. have been added to the quote and select  Mark as 'Entry Complete'  from the actions menu if  ENTRY NOT COMPLETE  is displayed. Click  Actions  and select  Accept Quote  from the  Actions  menu.  From the  Accept Quote  window, check the details are correct, fill in any extra details and enable the  Accept This Date  checkbox. Click  Save . The  Despatch Method  is now a required field. The order  Type  will change to  Service Order  and the  Work Order  tab becomes available with an automatically created work order. On the  Work Order  tab, click on the  Work Order  hyperlink to open the  Work Order Details  screen and maintain the work order. Refer to  Maintaining a Work Order  for more information. How to Create a Service Order To create a service order, complete the following: Click the  Frameworks Menu  then navigate to  Sales > Transaction Processing > Sales Orders  from the navigation tree. Click  New  to open the  New Sales Order  window and create a new order. Complete the following fields: In the  Type  field, select  Service Order  from the dropdown menu. Select the  Despatch Method  from the dropdown menu. Enter the  Date Required  and  Delivery Date  or use the  Date Picker  icon to set a date for the service call. If the customer requires an order number, enter this in the  Cust Order #  field. And any other necessary fields, and click  Save  to create the service order. A work order is automatically created and can be accessed through the  Work Order  tab or through the  Work Orders Dashboard . Click the  Work Order  hyperlink to maintain the work order.
