# Overview

The **Chart of Accounts** screen allows you to create and maintain General Ledger accounts that form the foundation of your financial reporting structure. You can set up revenue and balance sheet accounts, configure control account types, and define organisational reporting segments.

# Adding a new Chart of Accounts

## Accessing Chart of Accounts Maintenance

1. Click the **Frameworks Menu** and navigate to **General Ledger > Maintenance > Chart of Accounts** from the navigation tree.

## Creating a New Account

1. Click **New** to create a new General Ledger account.
2. Complete the required fields in the **Account Details** section, including **Account Number**, **Description**, **Rev. or B/Sheet**, **Status**, and **BAS Code.**
3. Configure the **Organisational Structure** fields as needed, including **Division**, **Branch** and **Cost Centre** fields
4. Set up the **Chart Sequence** information.
5. Click **Save** to create the account.
