Create a new customer account to enable sales transactions, credit management, and invoicing.

> 📝 - User security permission to access Receivables - Maintenance
> 📝 - Customer Type configuration completed in System Administration
> 📝 - Discount Groups configured (if applicable)
> 📝 - Invoice Frequency options configured in System Administration
> 📝 - NuVu Output Preference options configured (if applicable)

## Steps

1. Navigate to **Receivables > Maintenance > Customer Maintenance**.
2. Click **New** to open a blank customer record.
3. On the **General** tab, select the **Customer Type** from the drop-down menu. Select **A - Standard Debtor** for a regular customer account.
4. In the **Name** field, enter the customer name.
5. Enter the customer address details including the **Postal Address** and **Suburb/City** fields.
6. On the **More Data** tab, select the relevant **Discount Group** from the drop-down menu as required.
7. Select the **Invoice Freq.** and **NuVu Output Pref** from the drop-down menus as required. Click **Save** to create the customer account.

## Result

The new customer account is created and saved in Frameworks. The customer account is now available for use in sales transactions, and the customer can be selected when creating sales orders, quotes, or point of sale transactions.

The Customer ID is automatically generated by the system according to the configured customer numbering rules. The customer account includes the general information, contact details, and initial settings configured during creation.

Additional customer details such as payment terms, credit limits, delivery addresses, and contacts can be added after the initial customer record is created.
