Overview Frameworks allows for the import of stock components used in the manufacturing process as detailed by third party engineering software programs.  This document will describe the setup and steps required to ensure the correct export process in Mitek 20/20 to enable successful file imports into Production Scheduling. Export and Import Process Click on a heading below for more information  Configuration of Mitek 20/20 Application There is a need to set up the export facility in Mitek and save this as a schema so that is exports the appropriate fields and values when the process is invoked. The current tested and verified schema is called Prostix2010. This schema will not export ancillaries which need to be included in the Frameworks order as extras. If re-creating a schema then the following specifications need to be followed. From the main Mitek 20/20 menu, go to the Run  header and select ProStix Export . Update the following Export File Setup field values as required: Field Value Setup Name If one is not already there you can click on Save As and enter a name Setup Description Type an appropriate description for the export schema Output Filename extension Must be set to "MTA" Required File format version Must be set to "2" Click  Save Update the Job Selection and Output filename fields You will need to have a mapped network drive on the Frameworks server in a location that it the Mitek 20/20 application can access as well as anything in the Windows environment. For this purpose the following location has been set up: M:\mitek  This is a shared location on the Frameworks server which in this instance has been assigned the drive letter M on the local computer. Choose from the tabs across the top of the window to move progressively through all making choices for inclusion in the export file. Make the same selections as those illustrated below: Job Sections Tab If you require job sections to be exported in your Mitek file, ensure you tick the Output Job Sections checkbox. Client Details Tab If you require client details to be exported in your Mitek file, ensure you tick the Output Client Details checkbox. Truss Data Tab The following tab has more than one screen of fields, use the More Output Fields arrow to navigate through them all. Truss Members Tab Panel Data Panel Members Tab Plate Data Tab If you require Plate Data to be exported in your Mitek file, ensure you tick the Output Plate Data checkbox. Plate Sizes Tab Ancillaries Tab If you require ancillaries to be exported in your Mitek file, ensure you tick the Output Ancillaries checkbox. Hanger Data tab Once all tabs have been completed return to the Select Job & Export Type tab so that you can save the entire schema with all your selections by clicking OK . If you choose OK at any point through the field selection process your choices will not be saved, the window will close and your choices will be lost. Creating Mitek Componentry Import File Export the components of a job by clicking on the Generate Export File  button. Make sure you have selected the correct saved schema name and the job you wish to export to run the process. Maintaining Mitek Data It may be necessary to adjust the materials, lengths of materials and plate sizes available to be detailed with in the Mitek 20/20 software. The data maintenance screens of Mitek should only be accessed when no-one else is using the system as there is a risk of corrupting records whilst someone is detailing. Materials, Plates and Hangers are all managed separately in the data maintenance section. For example, to remove a plate size from the list available to detail from simply remove the tick from the box corresponding to this plate size. Matching Mitek Product codes to Frameworks Product Codes In order to allow the Mitek component file to import into Frameworks, the Mitek products need to be identified in Mitek and then added as an alternate to the product that exists in Frameworks.  The code Frameworks sees on import of the MTA file might however not match the code seen in Mitek itself. The below process shows examples of how the Mitek products are portrayed in the MTA file sent to Frameworks and how Frameworks actually sees them.  You will need to know this in order to create alternates to the equivalent products in Frameworks and allow the Mitek file to import without error. Mitek Truss member Matching Frameworks Component Import Sample Mitek data that generated the above code StartTrussMember SWB207         , DSWB , P10    SD6     , 90 .00000, 35 .00000,4500.000,001 So to create a match in Frameworks find the equivalent Frameworks product in inventory maintenance and add DWSBP10SD69035 as an alternate of that product.  This will then mean that Frameworks can match to this product on import and note that there was a single length of 4.5 metres. Mitek Plate Matching Frameworks Component Import Sample Mitek data that generated the above code StartPlateSizes GQ     , 100150                         ,0101.60000,0152.39999,004 GQ    ,100200                        ,0101.60000,0203.20000,004 Again, find the matching Frameworks plate product in Product Maintenance and add GQ10050 as an alternate so the import can locate the correct plate product and add a quantity of 4. Mitek Ancillaries Ancillaries are brought directly into the order however they will also require alternates generated in Frameworks.  The look as follows in the Mitek file. The ancillary codes are the first value on each line and in this probably to exactly match the code in Mitek.  Each one needs to be added into the equivalent product in Frameworks Product Maintenance as an alternate. The ancillary codes are the first value on each line and in this probably to exactly match the code in Mitek.  Each one needs to be added into the equivalent product in Frameworks Product Maintenance as an alternate. To setup an ancillary code, such as the joist hanger highlighted above, perform the following: Locate the product in Frameworks under Product Maintenance , and select Alternate codes Refer to  Product Maintenance for more information  Add the alternate code from the Mitek file via the Add  button. Importing Mitek Componentry Files To import a Mitek 20/20 componentry file, perform the following: From the Process Management dashboard select the required Quote/Order task and click the Production  button. In the Production Details screen select the import type from the Import From drop down available options: Then click the Import  button. Select the file you wish to import from your computer, and click Upload . The generic .csv file import needs to be in the following file format (note the header row must be removed before importing): Ensure the correct details have imported into the Componentry section of the Production Details screen. Review and amend as required (refer to Maintaining Componentry above). Press " Save " once you are happy with the added components. As per Process Management - Componentry via Mitek#calculate above, when importing componentry and setting the labour and overheads values; If transaction is a quote, the plant cost multiplier comes from the qty against the estimating task. If transaction is an order, the plant cost multiplier comes from the qty against the manufacturing task.  Additional Information Refer to  Process Model Maintenance for more information. The below system settings may be used to customise the functionality of your Frameworks instance. System Setting - Numeric Setting Purpose MitekGradeFieldLength Mitek Import Grade Length to extract In the  Value  field enter the number of characters of the Grade field in a Mitek import file is read.
