Overview Frameworks can set a personal security password for an account which is then required by the customer at the Point Of Sale in order to charge the account. This is set up in  Customer Maintenance . Account Sale To process an Account sale, from the home  Dashboard  perform the following: Navigate to POS Click   and navigate to  Sales > Transaction Processing > Point of Sale  from the navigation tree. An automatic transaction number appears in the POS header for the sale. Enter the Customer Details If your sale is for an  existing Customer , type the   Customer Name or ID in the  Customer  field and select from the customer from the popup list or search for the customer via  . When using the  Customer Finder  window, you can also use the  Customer ID, Customer name  (or partial customer name),  principal name  (or partial name),  primary or any contact phone number  (or partial phone number) or  Customer MaintenanceCustomer Maintenance  number in the  Search  field, or leave blank to search all customers, then press <enter> or click  , then filter the search results using the row filter. Note:  Frameworks does not search for bad debt customers. For customers with active selectable contracts a  Contract  field is displayed, with the alert icon  , to allow the user to select a contract. A contract isn't required to be select. If error message:  Customer balance of $XXX.00 exceeds credit limit of $ X XX.00   appears, refer to FAQ:  Credit Controls . If no customer record exists, click  to create a customer with basic information to perform the sale, More information on adding a new customer from POS. From the  Customer Maintenance  window enter the required information. The  Name, Postal Address  and  Suburb  are required fields, however, we recommend you collect as much information as possible. Refer below for additional information about the fields Phone (B):  Type the business phone number for the customer. If a main contact has been defined then this phone number is added to the contact record. Refer to  Contacts  for further information. Order No. Required:  Tick if this customer requires their Purchase Order numbers to be printed on their invoices. Casual Account:  Tick   to indicate the Customer account is a casual account and not a permanent account. A casual account is set up to allow customers such as owner /builders to have a temporary account while building. Casual accounts are automatically deleted once the account has a zero balance and there has been no activity on the account for a specified number of days from the last month-end. Sales Rep No:  If required, enter the number of the Sales Rep assigned to this customer. Customer Group:  Enter a Customer Group number for this customer or use     to search. A Customer Group is a way of grouping like customers together, usually for promotional purposes. For example, builders, plumbers. Discount Group:  Type the Discount Group number for this customer.     is available  to  select from.  A Discount Group is a way of grouping customers together who attract the same level of discount. For example, builders may attract a 2.5% discount while plumbers may attract 5%. Multiple Discount Groups can be assigned to a Customer Group to allow flexible discounting. Trade License:  If required, Type the Tradesman's Licence Number.  If applicable, type the  Customer Order number  in the  Cust Order #  field and/or add a  reference  into the  Reference  field.  Refer to  Flags  in   Customer Maintenance .  for further information about making the  Order No. Required  and the  Order No Rules  tab. Click here if the Order No. Required and the Order No Rules defined.  Click the   to the right of the  Customer Order #  field. record the appropriate values for the prompts you have assigned in  Customer Maintenance . These values must conform to the rules defined against each prompt. Refer to  Customer Maintenance#orderrules  for further information. When complete, click  . Enter the Product Details Refer to the  Product Finder  and the  Product Multi Selection  Operator Guides for more information on searching for products. Refer to steps 5-9 in  Point-of-Sale Maintenance  for further information on entering products in Point of Sale transaction. More information on adding products with surcharges Confirm Delivery Details If the customer requires delivery of the product/s, complete any mandatory information in the   tab. The following link provides you with a screenshot and a description of the information displayed and/or the information you may enter. More information about the Delivery Details. Field Description Despatch Method Select the   appropriate  Despatch Method  via the drop down arrow  . Despatch Methods are unique to a customer's business. The Despatch Method field determines if a cash sale requires delivery. Delivery Date Type the required delivery date or use the date finder   to search. Delivery Time Type the time the product/s will be delivered. Format is  ddmm  with no colon in between. 24 hour time format is accepted. Fixed Time Tick   if this time is fixed. Requested Time Select the  Requested Time  the customer is requesting the delivery to be made via the drop down arrow  . Deliver To Defaults to the first name (if defined in the  Delivery Name  field in  Delivery Address Maintenance ) or select the appropriate name via the search  , or type the customer name to deliver the product/s to. Address / Suburb/City / State Select the appropriate address (if defined in  Delivery Address Maintenance ) via the search  , or type the address details. Instructions Defaults to the Instructions provided (if defined in the  Instructions  field in  Delivery Address Maintenance ) or type any instructions regarding the delivery. Contact Name Type the contact name for the delivery. Contact Phone Type the contact phone for the delivery. Type Of Load Select the  Type Of Load  via the drop down arrow  . Has Phoned Tick if the customer has phoned about the impending delivery. Map Ref Select the appropriate map reference for the delivery via the search  .  Map Xref Type the appropriate map cross reference for the delivery.  Delivery Area Select the appropriate delivery area via the search  .  Delivery Fee Automatically populated based on  Delivery Area . Adjust as necessary. Message: " This customer does not get charged a delivery fee " is displayed if the  Charge Delivery  field is not ticked    in the Customer's record in  Customer Maintenance Message: " Customer delivery fee overrides area delivery fee " is displayed if the  Charge Delivery  field is ticked     in the Customer's record in  Customer Maintenance  and a  Delivery Area  with an associated fee has been selected. Comments Type any special comments regarding the delivery. Process the Sale Click   to process the sale.  Refer to  Tendering Payments  for further information.  If a customer has a message defined, then a pop up window is displayed with the message. The user will need to acknowledge this message by selecting   . If the customer requires a quote or order. Refer to  Create a Sales Quote from Point of Sale  or  Create a Sales Order from Point of Sale  for more information. Provide the printed docket to the customer, along with the appropriate change.
