The Profit & Loss report shows revenue, expenses, and net profit for a specified period. Generate this report to analyse financial performance, compare current results to prior year, and review month-to-date and year-to-date figures.

> 📝 - Access to General Ledger module
> 📝 - Permissions to run financial reports
> 📝 - Company number for the report
> 📝 - Financial year and month to report on
> 📝 - Branch range to include in the report

## Steps

1. Click the **Report Category List** icon from the top middle section of the Frameworks screen.
2. Expand the **General Ledger** section to view all of the reports available for the category.
3. Click **Profit and Loss - MTD and YTD with Last Year**. The **Report Runner** window displays.
4. From the **Output Type** drop-down menu, select **PDF**.
5. In the **Company** field, enter the company number. The **Search** button is available to search for companies.
6. From the **Financial Year** drop-down menu, select the financial year.
7. From the **Month** drop-down menu, select the month to report on.
8. In the **From Branch** and **To Branch** fields, enter the range of branches to include in the report. The **Search** button is available to search for branches.
9. From the **Detail Level** drop-down menu, select **Instance**.
10. Click **Run Report**.

## Result

The **Report Runner** window closes and the report runs in the background. When the report completes, you receive a notification in Frameworks. Click the notification to open the PDF report in your browser.

The report displays month-to-date and year-to-date profit and loss figures, along with comparative figures from the prior year.
