# Overview

[Version 6.1.240131+]

The Sales Order Hold functionality introduced into Frameworks version 6.1.240131 offers enhanced control over your sales orders, allowing users to manually hold orders or set automatic hold conditions through the new OrdComHold system flag.

> 📝 Only sales orders, not quotes, can be placed on hold.

# What Happens to Orders on Hold?

This new functionality allows for any incomplete or pending sales orders to be placed on hold until further action is taken. While a sales order is on hold the following occurs.

- The **Linked PO** option is still available via the Actions menu, except there is a warning that “*New linked purchase orders cannot be created while this transaction is on hold.*” once the sales order fulfilment (SOF) screen opens. This allows you to view and access any linked purchase orders that may have been created before the order was placed on hold without letting you create any new linked purchase orders.
- The **Pick and Release **option is NOT available in the Actions menu until the order is resumed.
- The Sales Order is hidden from the following dashboards and screens:
  - The** Picking Dashboard**
  - The **Despatch View Dashboard**
  - The** Despatch Calendar**
  - The** Despatch Calendar View**
  - The **Runsheet Maintenance**

To ensure that only fully processed and actionable orders are displayed for efficient management and decision-making, sales orders, and their product quantities, on hold are also excluded from the following calculations:

- The **Stock Re-order **and **Excess Stock **calculations.
- The **On C/O**,** **which is calculated by the “On Order Quantities” scheduled task, and under the **Branch Stock **section of the **Product Dashboard.**
- The **Future Orders**,** Projected Total** and** Projected GP% **in the **Management Dashboard**
- The **Future Orders Weekly Totals** grid in the **Management Dashboard**
- The **Sales Dashboard Calendar** in the **Management Dashboard**
- The **Sales Orders Chart** and **My Orders Calendar** in **My Frameworks**

Depending on the configuration, Orders can be resumed by selecting **Resume Order **or **Mark as ‘Entry Complete’**. Once an order is no longer on hold it will behave as a standard sales order.

From the **Customer Dashboard**, under the **Invoices, Orders, Quotes, Projects & Jobs **there is the **Hold Orders **tab. This allows you to view and drill down on all current orders that are on hold for the selected customer. The results displayed include the order number, back order number if applicable, branch associated with the order, customer order number, delivery date, delivery address and amount.
